Ma este 9:30kor Eastern Washington - Sam Houston State FCS rangadó az ESPNen!

- Eastern Washington's long-term goal may not happen without some earlier steps, and there's no diminishing the importance of winning a conference championship. The 13 conference winners will be: Big Sky, Eastern Washington; Big South, Coastal Carolina; CAA Football, New Hampshire; Ivy League, Princeton; Mid-Eastern Athletic, South Carolina State; Missouri Valley, North Dakota State; Northeast, Sacred Heart; Ohio Valley, Jacksonville State; Patriot League, Fordham; Pioneer, San Diego; Southern, Chattanooga; Southland, Southeastern Louisiana; and Southwestern Athletic, Alcorn State.

- The best FCS matchups will be won by: non-conference, North Dakota State over Montana (Sept. 20); conference, North Dakota State at Northern Iowa (Missouri Valley, Nov. 8); and rivalry, Lafayette over Lehigh (Patriot League, Nov. 22) at Yankee Stadium in the 150th renewal of college football's most-played game.

- The FCS upsets of FBS teams will be fewer than the record 16 of a year ago, but keep a close eye on these games involving ranked FCS teams: Chattanooga at Central Michigan (Aug. 28), North Dakota State at Iowa State (Aug. 30), Eastern Washington at Washington (Sept. 6), Southeastern Louisiana at Tulane (Sept. 13), Northern Iowa at Hawaii (Sept. 13) and Fordham at Army (Nov. 22). At least four of the six potential upsets will happen.

- There are always surprise teams, like Maine winning the CAA after being picked eighth in the preseason poll last season, or Sacred Heart going from worst to first in the Northeast Conference. Five unranked teams that were picked fourth or lower in their conference's preseason poll who have to be respected: Delaware (CAA), Stony Brook (CAA), Central Arkansas (Southland), Southern Illinois (Missouri Valley) and Gardner-Webb (Big South).

- Delaware and Stony Brook are members of the deepest conference in the FCS - the CAA. Whether that conference can surpass the Missouri Valley's dominance is a big question, but the two are real close. The FCS conference rankings: 1. Missouri Valley (North Dakota State, Northern Iowa and South Dakota State are all preseason Top 10); 2. CAA (six teams in Top 25, three others receiving votes); 3. Big Sky; 4. Ohio Valley; 5. Southland, 6. Southern, 7. Big South, 8. Patriot; 9. Ivy; 10. MEAC; 11. Northeast; 12. SWAC; and 13. Pioneer.

- The FCS had a banner run in the 2014 NFL Draft as Jimmy Garoppolo led 19 selections from the division. The seniors whom NFL teams should be keeping the closest eyes on are Harvard defensive end Zach Hodges, Norfolk State defensive end/outside linebacker Lynden Trail, South Dakota State running back Zach Zenner, Northern Iowa running back David Johnson, Southern Illinois tight end MyCole Pruitt, Samford safety Jaquiski Tartt and Southeastern Louisiana quarterback Bryan Bennett.

- Speaking of Zenner, didn't the 2,000-yard mark for a running back used to be a sign of immortality? Well, Zenner will laugh at the barrier during the playoffs when he becomes the first FCS player to surpass it a third time in his career.

- An unsettling 28 of the 125 FCS programs have new head coaches this season. While it's easy to say the next offseason will be less active, here are coaches who are candidates for bigger jobs after the season: Beau Baldwin (Eastern Washington), Ron Gould (UC Davis), Jay Hopson (Alcorn State), Rob Ambrose (Towson), Brian Jenkins (Bethune-Cookman), Jamey Chadwell (Charleston Southern), Joe Moorhead (Fordham) and Bob Surace (Princeton). And then there are coaches whose seats will warm if their teams don't perform well this season: Ray Woodard (Lamar), Mick Delaney (Montana), Russ Huesman (Chattanooga), Sparky Woods (VMI), Harold Nicholls (Presbyterian), Dale Lennon (Southern Illinois), Eric Wolford (Youngstown State) and Tom Gilmore (Holy Cross).

- During awards season, the Walter Payton Award (outstanding FCS player) will go to Adams as the Eastern Washington quarterback betters last year's runner-up finish. The 20th annual Buck Buchanan Award (outstanding FCS defensive player) will go to Norfolk State defensive end/outside linebacker Lynden Trail and Southeastern Louisiana's Ron Roberts will win the Eddie Robinson Award (FCS coach of the year).

- Eastern Washington has traveled the Road to Frisco before, winning the 2010 FCS title when the growing city north of Dallas hosted the championship game for the first time. The Eagles will knock out North Dakota State in the playoff semifinals and then go on to beat Southeastern Louisiana for another national title.

CAA Football, 15; Big Sky, 13; Missouri Valley: 13; Ohio Valley, 10; Patriot, 8; Southland, 8; Big South, 7; Mid-Eastern Athletic, 7; Ivy, 6; Northeast, 5; Southern, 5; Southwestern Athletic, 3; Pioneer League, 1

1. Missouri Valley Football Conference (10 football programs) - Last year's top ranking was driven by North Dakota State and its national title three-peat. The Bison aren't nearly as strong after losing 24 seniors, so a step back would hurt the conference's stature. That's where Northern Iowa comes into the picture. The Panthers are a strong contender for the conference title, although they have been vulnerable in recent seasons. South Dakota State, behind two-time 2,000-yard rusher Zach Zenner, can't seem to get over the NDSU hump, but that's still three programs in the Top 10-15. Plus, Southern Illinois should be strong again. It's enough to keep the Missouri Valley at No. 1 over the CAA.

2. CAA Football (11 programs) - Depth is always the name of the game in the Colonial Athletic Association, which rebounded quite well last season with the national runner-up (Towson) and a semifinalist (New Hampshire). The CAA had young talent last season, so it could very well be the FCS' strongest conference this season. It's so strong that Maine, last year's champ, is getting lost amid talk of the many playoff contenders, which in addition to UNH and Towson should include Villanova, William & Mary, Delaware, James Madison and Richmond - or at least until they start knocking each other off. A return to elite status by Villanova could propel the CAA to the top perch.

3. Big Sky Conference (13 programs) - The biggest FCS conference was down last season, but this year it features a star-laden Eastern Washington squad that seemingly is the preseason favorite for the national title. The Eagles have advanced to the national semifinals in three of the past four seasons, winning the 2010 title. But is there enough depth after the Eagles? Montana is a good start, of course, clearly a Top-10 program. Montana State took an unexpected downturn last year and runner-up Northern Arizona and fellow playoff participant Southern Utah face a similar prospect this season. Cal Poly hopes to be better than last year's 6-6.

4. Ohio Valley Conference (nine programs) - It will be hard to top last season considering Eastern Illinois was No. 2-ranked for much of the season and three teams (EIU, Jacksonville State and Tennessee State) stopped the conference's playoff drought since 2000 by each winning at least one game. There may not be a great team among them, but it's a trio of three really good teams. It's also a high-scoring conference with potential upsets as UT Martin, Eastern Kentucky and Murray State lurk behind the top three.

5. Southland Conference (11 programs) - The addition of Abilene Christian, Houston Baptist and Incarnate Word will drag down the conference's overall ranking while the three get their feet wet, but there's a national title contender in Southeastern Louisiana, and McNeese State is a Top 10 team again. The teams that follow, including Sam Houston State and Central Arkansas, provide excellent depth. Last year's breakout year for the conference should continue this season.

6. Southern Conference (eight programs) - The conference race retooled a year early in 2013 with Chattanooga, Furman and Samford sharing the title while Appalachian State and Georgia Southern stepped backward in their final SoCon season. Chattanooga rates a slight favorite this season despite not appearing in the playoffs for 30 years. A return to prominence by Wofford would do a lot for the conference, and that's not out of the question.

7. Big South Conference (six programs) - Despite being the smallest FCS conference, the Big South hopes to keep making waves in non-conference matchups. It has a national player in Coastal Carolina (playoff win over Montana last year) and three other programs - Liberty, Charleston Southern and Gardner-Webb - that are legitimate Big South contenders. There's little margin for error in the conference race.

8. Ivy League (eight programs) - Always better than advertised, the Ivy League isn't the usual Harvard-Penn logjam anymore. Princeton is sitting on a potential powerhouse after letting an outright title slip away last season. Harvard is still the Tigers' biggest threat, but Dartmouth - yes, the Big Green - is lurking. Penn doesn't want coach Al Bagnoli to retire without one more title run.

9. Patriot League (seven programs) - Fordham should find itself in the Top 10 again this season and is finally eligible for the Patriot title again. League teams are getting stronger while they head into a second season of football scholarships, with Lafayette coming off the league title and Bucknell its second winning season in three years. What the league needs is for perennial powers Lehigh and Colgate, which has a new head coach in Dan Hunt, to not slip backward.

10. Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (11 programs) - Bethune-Cookman and South Carolina State both made the playoffs last season and figure to battle it out for the MEAC title again, but they lost some key talent. There's been plenty of head coaching changes in recent years, so some programs are still steadying themselves. North Carolina A&T is primed for a strong season. Florida A&M and Savannah State received NCAA postseason bans for poor Academic Progress Rate scores.

11. Northeast Conference (seven programs) - Defending co-champions Sacred Heart and Duquesne are the only NEC teams which finished with winning records last season, although the conference title race was terrific, with all seven teams bunched within two games of each other. Sacred Heart is a heavy favorite this season, with Saint Francis (Pa.), an unlikely title contender anyway, under an APR postseason ban. NEC teams may struggle against their Division I non-conference opponents.

12. Southwestern Athletic Conference (10 programs) - APR penalties have left 40 percent of the teams - Alabama State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Mississippi Valley State and Prairie View A&M - banned from the postseason, hampering the conference's effort to try to move in a positive direction. Four teams have new head coaches and defending champion Southern appears to be the one to beat again. From a prestige standpoint, it would be good for the SWAC if Grambling State makes progress under new coach Broderick Fobbs.

13. Pioneer Football League (11 programs) - The non-scholarship PFL is right there with the SWAC in trying to avoid being the lowest-ranked FCS conference. There's enough changes among starting quarterbacks to consider the league down slightly. The title race is really wide open with San Diego, Drake, Jacksonville and Dayton trying to unseat defending co-champions Butler and Marist. The PFL's bottom teams have been slightly worse than the SWAC's bottom teams, although plenty of recent coaching changes could signal improvement.

NON-CONFERENCE

5. South Carolina State at Coastal Carolina (Sept. 13)/Furman at South Carolina State (Sept. 20)/Coastal Carolina at Furman (Oct. 4) - We'll group all the Palmetto State fun together. All three teams made the FCS playoffs last season.

4. Eastern Washington at Montana State (Sept. 20) - OK, we're cheating a little on this one, but, seriously, this terrific matchup doesn't count toward the Big Sky standings.

3. Fordham at Villanova (Sept. 6) - Villanova wants revenge for an upset loss to the Rams last year. This game features one of the better quarterback matchups of the season: Fordham's Michael Nebrich versus the Wildcats' John Robertson.

2. Sam Houston State at Eastern Washington (Aug. 23) - The host Eagles are winless through three explosive all-time meetings with Sam Houston, but quarterback Vernon Adams clearly wants to take advantage of the national spotlight of college football's first game. National championship-winning coach K.C. Keeler will make his debut with Sam Houston.

1. Montana at North Dakota State (Sept. 20) - This bragging-rights matchup almost happened in the playoffs last year. NDSU has won the last three national championships and Montana has appeared in more title games (seven) than any current FCS program.

Too good not to mention: Jacksonville State at Chattanooga (Sept. 6), Southern Illinois at Eastern Illinois (Sept. 6), South Dakota State at Southern Utah (Sept. 13) and Richmond at Liberty (Oct. 4).

FBS

5. Richmond at Virginia (Sept. 6) - Richmond quarterbacks Michael Strauss and Michael Rocco began their careers at Virginia. Mike London turned a 2008 FCS national title at Richmond into the head coaching job at Virginia.

4. Montana at Wyoming (Aug. 30) - New Wyoming coach Craig Bohl, who won three straight FCS titles at North Dakota State, still gets the matchup against the Grizzlies that he anticipated all along.

3. Northern Iowa at Iowa (Aug. 30) - UNI always gets up for the intrastate FBS teams, including a win at Iowa State last season.

2. North Dakota State at Iowa State (Aug. 30) - That same Iowa State program is trying to avoid being the fifth straight FBS team to lose to the Bison, whose new coach, Chris Klieman, will be making his debut.

1. Eastern Washington at Washington (Sept. 6) - The EWU upperclassmen will remember a three-point loss at Washington to open the 2011 season. The Eagles figure to make this an offensive slugfest.

Too good not to mention: New Hampshire at Toledo (Aug. 30), Southeastern Louisiana at Tulane (Sept. 13) and Fordham at Army (Nov. 22).

CONFERENCE

(One game per conference)

13. San Diego at Jacksonville, Pioneer (Sept. 13) - Is it possible the first game of the PFL season is its biggest? The visiting Toreros need to put last year's disappointment (PFL title ineligibility) behind them.

12. Southern at Alcorn State, SWAC (Sept. 27) - Southern's Dawson Odoms and Alcorn's Jay Hopson have completely changed the outlook of their teams. Both squads won nine games last season.

11. Sacred Heart at Duquesne, Northeast (Oct. 18) - Sacred Heart is sitting on a monster team within the NEC, but the Dukes and their defense have the best chance of spoiling the Pioneers' season.

10. Harvard at Princeton, Ivy (Oct. 25) - Defenses, take cover. Princeton has won the last two matchups by 39-34 (2012) and 51-48 (2013, triple overtime) scores after Harvard won the 2011 matchup, 56-39.

9. Bethune-Cookman at South Carolina State, MEAC (Oct. 25). Offense (B-CU) versus defense (SCSU).

8. Chattanooga at Furman (Nov. 22) - The Southern Conference's automatic playoff bid may well be on the line on the final day of the regular season. Oh, how the visiting Mocs can taste their first postseason bid since 1984.

7. William Mary at New Hampshire, CAA (Oct. 11) - If it's William & Mary, it's a struggle for UNH. Again, it's offense (UNH) versus defense (William & Mary).

6. Eastern Illinois at Jacksonville State, OVC (Nov. 15) - Both teams reached the national quarterfinals last season and have rosters full of talent. Of course, Jimmy Garoppolo is not one of the names.

5. Montana at Eastern Washington, Big Sky (Nov. 8) - The visiting Grizzlies actually have an offense that can keep up with Eastern.

4. McNeese State at Southeastern Louisiana, Southland (Nov. 15) - Quarterback Bryan Bennett and Southeastern turned last year's meeting into a dud. The visiting Cowboys believe this one will be different.

3. Liberty at Coastal Carolina, Big South (Nov. 22) - The pre-eminent powers in the Big South figure to have everything on the line. Liberty has won at least a share of six of the last seven conference titles yet is still trying to make the FCS playoffs for the first time.

2. Lehigh vs. Lafayette, Patriot (Nov. 22) - Appropriately, the 150th meeting of college football's most-played series gets special treatment at Yankee Stadium. Over 40,000 fans are expected.

1. North Dakota State at Northern Iowa, Missouri Valley (Nov. 8) - UNI blew a late lead against NDSU last year and its season unraveled from there. Both teams could be unbeaten in conference play for this November matchup.

Too good not to mention: Lafayette at Fordham (Oct. 3), Jacksonville State at Tennessee State (Oct. 11), Tennessee State at Eastern Illinois (Oct. 25), Wofford at Chattanooga (Nov. 8) and Towson at Villanova (Nov. 8).

RIVALRY

(Can't be listed above)

5. The Citadel at VMI (Nov. 22) - "The Military Classic of the South" is a Southern Conference game again. The sights off the field are as special as what is on the field.

4. New Hampshire at Maine (Nov. 22) - Maine may be the defending champion in CAA Football, but it lost twice to UNH last season. It's the annual Battle of the Brice-Cowell Musket.

3. Yale at Harvard (Nov. 22) - The Game dates to 1875. No, that's not the year of Yale's last win in the series. But Harvard has claimed seven straight meetings and 12 of the last 13 against its Ivy League rival.

2. South Dakota State vs. North Dakota State (Nov. 1) - For South Dakota State senior Zach Zenner to rush for 2,000 yards for the third straight season, he might need better numbers against NDSU in this year's Dakota Marker game.

1. Montana State at Montana (Nov. 22) - This bitter rivalry within the Treasure State is good enough for the entire FCS to share in.

Too good not to mention: Alabama A&M-Alabama State (Oct. 25) at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala., Richmond at William & Mary (Nov. 22), Sam Houston State vs. Stephen F. Austin (Nov. 1) at Reliant Stadium in Houston and Villanova at Delaware (Nov. 22).

Sam Houston State @ Eastern Washington az ESPN-enbaggio

Here's an early look at the top teams for 2014. Let's make it a baker's dozen (with 2013 record and season-ending ranking).

13. Coastal Carolina (12-3; 7) - Quarterback Alex Ross can no longer get the ball to running back Lorenzo Taliaferro and wide receiver Matt Hazel, but running back De'Angelo Henderson is the next star on the high-scoring offense. Quinn Backus is among the top linebackers in the nation and the special teams will be strong. Coach Joe Moglia's squad will be helped in the Big South by playing home games against Liberty and Charleston Southern, but Gardner-Webb will be strong, too.

12. McNeese State (10-3; 11) - Coach Matt Viator might find it impossible to replace the leadership and production of quarterback Cody Stroud. His Cowboys played a lot of young players, and running back Kelvin Bennett and tight end Nic Jacobs will be the offensive stars. Southeastern Louisiana will stand in their way in the Southland Conference, and out of conference they will have a trip to Nebraska.

11. Chattanooga (8-4; 23) - A breakthrough 2013 still didn't land a playoff berth under coach Russ Huesman, but his Mocs will return Southern Conference players of the year in his son Jacob at quarterback and Davis Tull at defensive end. Sixth-year defensive tackle Derrick Lott and running back Keon Williams are highly talented players coming off injuries. The Mocs will have trips to two FBS opponents, Central Michigan and Tennessee, and face Jacksonville State's standout team.

10. Towson (13-3; 2) - The national runner-up Tigers will find it hard to replace 2,500-yard running back Terrance West as he heads off early to the 2014 NFL Draft. Coach Rob Ambrose has built up the Tigers' talent base, but West's understudy, Darius Victor, is not quite at the same level, and the offense loses starting quarterback Peter Athens and much of the offensive line. The defense, to be led by defensive end Ryan Delaire, already is suffering key losses at linebacker.

9. South Dakota State (9-5; 13) - Running back Zach Zenner will chase a third straight 2,000-yard season (fortunately for him, only one of the games will be against North Dakota State). Quarterback Austin Sumner and wide receiver Jason Schneider will team up again, but coach John Stiegelmeier has to fill some big holes on the offensive and defensive lines. There won't be an easy transition period because the non-conference schedule includes trips to Missouri and Southern Utah and a home date against Cal Poly.

8. Montana (10-3; 8) - The Grizzlies will face Bohl in his debut at Wyoming and later face his old team at North Dakota State. Coach Mick Delaney's team will be really strong in the skills positions with quarterback Jordan Johnson, all- purpose Ellis Henderson and running backs Jordan Canada and Travon Van back. Defensive end Zack Wagenmann returns, but the losses at linebacker are huge.

7. Northern Iowa (7-5; Not Ranked) - The Panthers will be much improved with a healthier David Johnson and Sawyer Kollmorgen at running back and quarterback, respectively. The defense will get back linebacker Jake Farley, coach Mark Farley's son, from injury, and 6-foot-4, 311-pound Xavier Williams is a beast at defensive tackle. The Panthers will play two FBS opponents, Iowa and Hawaii.

6. Jacksonville State (11-4; 10) - No defender should be anxious to tackle big running back DaMarcus James and the offense got even better when redshirt freshman quarterback Eli Jenkins blossomed in the playoffs. Coach Bill Clark was the right tonic for this past season's team. His second squad will return 17 starters and it has added some SEC transfers, including defensive end LaMichael Fanning from Alabama The Gamecocks will replace Eastern Illinois as the Ohio Valley Conference favorite, and they have Michigan State and Chattanooga on their non-conference schedule.

5. Villanova (6-5; Not Ranked) - After going belly-up as the CAA Football favorite, the Wildcats have to come back strong behind dual-threat quarterback John Robertson and running back Kevin Monangai. The biggest holes are on the defensive line, but coach Andy Talley has stocked the overall talent with recent recruiting classes. In non-conference action, the Wildcats will head to Syracuse and look for revenge against Fordham.

4. New Hampshire (10-5; 5) - After a surprising run to the FCS semifinals, the Wildcats will return a superb offense and a fast-improving defense. Two has been better than one at quarterback with Sean Goldrich and Andy Vailas, and the pair will benefit from a 1,000-yard rusher (Nico Steriti) and a 1,000-yard wide receiver (R.J. Harris). The defense boasts leading tacklers Akil Anderson and Shane McNeely at linebacker as well as fast-rising safety Casey DeAndrade. Coach Sean McDonnell's squad will visit Toledo and host Lehigh.

3. Southeastern Louisiana (11-3; 6) - Coach Ron Roberts has rebuilt quickly with transfers like do-everything quarterback Bryan Bennett from Oregon. Rasheed Harrell and Xavier Roberson are exciting players offensively, while many of the standouts on defense, including pass-rushing linebacker Isiah Corbett, also are back. A trip to Tulane will highlight the Lions' non- conference schedule.

2. North Dakota State (15-0; 1) - The aura surrounding the Bison will depart with a senior class that won 52 games as well as the three national titles over the last four seasons. New coach Chris Klieman will still have a strong defense with the likes of linebacker Carlton Littlejohn and safety Colten Heagle, but it will not be nearly as dominant. Junior-to-be quarterback Carson Wentz could take over the lead role from Brock Jensen and will have go- to weapons in wide receiver Zach Vraa and running back John Crockett. Opponents will play even harder knowing the Bison are vulnerable. In addition to the Montana game, the Bison will play Iowa State in non-conference action.

1. Eastern Washington (12-3; 3) - Opposing defenses must pick their poison in defending Walter Payton Award runner-up Vernon Adams and his favorite weapons, wide receiver Cooper Kupp and running back Quincy Forte. As the offense scores in bunches, linebacker Ronnie Hamlin is expected to be back to lead the defense, which must improve. Of course, coach Beau Baldwin doesn't take it easy with his schedule, and the non-conference games include Washington, Sam Houston State, and, yes, Montana State in a game that won't count toward the Big Sky Conference standings.

FCS SELECTIONS IN 2014 NFL DRAFT

The 19 draft selections from FCS programs:

Day 1 - Thursday (Round 1)

No FCS selections

Day 2 - Friday (Rounds 2-3)

New England Patriots (2nd round, 62nd overall selection) - Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois, 6-2, 226. Air apparent for Tom Brady? It's possible for the 2013 Walter Payton Award winner, who shares the same agent as Brady.

Miami Dolphins (3rd, 67) - Billy Turner, OT, North Dakota State, 6-5, 315. Both strong and light on his feet, Turner was the bulldozer up front for the three- time FCS champion Bison. He helps fill a position of need for the Dolphins, who picked O-linemen with two of their first three picks.

Cleveland Browns (3rd, 94) - Terrance West, RB, Towson, 5-9, 225. Garoppolo will vouch for West, who rushed for 354 yards and five touchdowns against Eastern Illinois in the playoffs, as well as 2,509 yards and 41 touchdowns in his junior season.

Minnesota Vikings (3rd, 96) - Jerick McKinnon, RB, Georgia Southern, 5-9, 209. Workout wonder is strong and low to the ground, with an extra burst of speed in the open field.

Day - 3 Saturday (Rounds 4-7)

Miami Dolphins (4th, 125) - Walt Aikens, CB, Liberty, 6-2, 205. A big, physical corner, Aikens rose draft boards after posting a strong draft buildup.

New York Jets (4th, 137) - Dakota Dozier, OG, Furman, 6-4, 313 - Strong performance against FBS competition was an eye-opener with the athletic Dozier, who was Furman's starter at left tackle for four straight seasons.

Baltimore Ravens (4th, 138) - Lorenzo Taliaferro, RB/FB, Coastal Carolina, 6-0, 229. The hard-nosed running back has a patient running style and is rarely dropped for a loss; could transition to fullback in the NFL.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5th, 143) - Kadeem Edwards, OG, Tennessee State, 6-4, 313. Needs to be more physical at the point of attack, but has the potential for quick development with long arms and coachable skills.

Detroit Lions (5th, 158) - Caraun Reid, DT, Princeton, 6-2, 305. Potential value pick with interior mauler, who should work effectively when not facing the constant double and triple teams in the Ivy League.

Miami Dolphins (5th, 171) - Jordan Tripp, OLB, Montana, 6-3, 234. Particularly solid against the run, Tripp also had the fastest 20-yard shuttle run (3.96 seconds) at the NFL Scouting Combine since A.J. Hawk in 2006,

Minnesota Vikings (6th, 184) - Kendall James, CB, Maine, 5-10, 180. Maine has been a surprising pipeline to the NFL, and the smaller but ultra-quick cornerback has loose hips and good body control to turn and run with wide receivers.

Miami Dolphins (6th, 190) - Matt Hazel, WR, Coastal Carolina, 6-1, 198. Selection of this strong route runner with sure hands means five of the Big South's nine all-time draft selections are from Coastal Carolina.

Arizona Cardinals (6th, 196) - Walter Powell, WR, Murray State, 5-11, 189. Slot receiver with an elusive style also is an accomplished return specialist. He scored three touchdowns on 35 career punt returns at Murray State.

St. Louis Rams (7th, 226) - Mitchell Van Dyk, OT, Portland State, 6-7, 313. Large frame aids the fast-improving Van Dyk, who moves well and anchored the O- line of a strong rushing attack.

Miami Dolphins (7th, 234) - Terrence Fede, DE, Marist, 6-4, 267. Marist's first-ever draft selection was a first-team FCS All-American in a terrific year for defensive ends last year. He has the body type and tools to be a quick learner out of the non-scholarship Pioneer Football League.

Oakland Raiders (7th, 235) - Shelby Harris, DT, Illinois State, 6-2, 288. A standout as a junior, the former transfer from Wisconsin did not play last year after being kicked off the Illinois State roster for conduct detrimental to the team. Clearly, one of the more surprise picks of the draft.

St. Louis Rams (7th, 250) - Demetrius Rhaney, C, Tennessee State, 6-2, 301. Hard worker who stays in plays to their completion and flashed sub-5.0 times at his pro day.

Cincinnati Bengals (7th, 252) - Lavelle Westbrooks, CB, Georgia Southern, 5-11, 186. Aggressive style with a good football I.Q., Westbrooks comes from a departing FCS program that produces outstanding athletes.

Atlanta Falcons (7th, 255) - Tyler Starr, OLB, South Dakota, 6-4, 250. Two- time Buck Buchanan Award finalist had 27 career sacks - all solos - including 14 as a sophomore in 2011.

RISERS AND FALLERS

Risers - McKinnon (third round), Aikens (fourth), Taliaferro (fourth), Hazel (sixth), Van Dyk (seventh) and Harris (seventh)

Fallers - Reid (fifth), Tripp (fifth) and Delaware nose tackle Zachariah Kerr (undrafted)

FISHING FOR FCS PICKS

The Miami Dolphins finished the 2013 season with six former FCS players on their roster, but they appear ready to increase that number this year.

Five of their eight selections in this year's NFL Draft were from the FCS - the most among all 32 NFL teams.

On Friday, the Dolphins selected Turner from North Dakota State in the third round at No. 67 overall.

On Saturday, they made Liberty's Aikens the first FCS selection of the day at No. 125 in the fourth round.

In the sixth round, they picked Montana's Tripp at No. 171 and Coastal Carolina's Hazel at No. 196.

They then capped their selections with Fede, from Marist, in the seventh round at No. 234.

PICKS BY CONFERENCE

The improvements made by the Ohio Valley and Big South conferences in the last few years were evident again as the OVC's four selections were the FCS high and the Big South's three tied for the second-most.

Ohio Valley Conference - 4
Big South Conference - 3
Southern Conference - 3
Missouri Valley Football Conference - 3
CAA Football - 2
Big Sky Conference - 2
Ivy League - 1
Pioneer Football League - 1

North Dakota State - Towson

Nos, a Bison seniorjai (és a távozó HC Craig Bohl) úgy zárták az utolsó meccsüket, ahogy illik. Kétséget sem hagyva a győztes kiléte felől (legalábbis a 2. negyedtől) és 28-0ra nyerték az utolsó 3 negyedet. Bár a Bison idegesen kezdett az első 2 drivejukat megállította a Tigers D, egy szép 33 yardos John Crockett futás megágyazott az első eredményes drivenak. Maga Crockett szerezte a vezetést jelentő TDt.
Aztán a 2. negyedben jöttek a hibák .Előbb D.K.

A meccs legjobb játékosának zsinórban másodszor a Bison QBját, Brock Jernsent választották. Jensen 48-5 győzelem - vereség mutatóval hagyja ott a Bisont. A junior LB

Én a helyében megtenném. A CBSnél 3.- 4. körre taksálják őt jelenleg.
