2016-ra megvan a harmadik offensive lineman: Josh Ball. Szép nagy darab srác, 17 évesen 6,7.5 magas és 317 font. Rajta kívül Ricky Aguayo és Logan Tyler is elkötelezte magát, mind a ketten a speciális egységet fogják erősíteni. Előbbi (nem meglepő módon) kickerként, utóbbi punterként.

Nem bírta a kiképzést, finoman szólva. Komoly hozzáállásbeli gondjai vannak.

Jimbo Fisher Golsonról:

He is a thrower that can run, he’s not a runner who throws, and there’s a big difference,” Fisher said earlier this month on the Jeff Cameron Show. “He can run zone-read stuff if he really needed to, which we have built into our offense, in every run we do. People act like we don’t do that, but we do. There’s a lot of versatility in which he brings to the table if he ends up being the guy that can play.

Lesz egy Terrance Smith, de hogy ki lesz a párja azt nem tudnám megtippelni. Northrup talán a szezon második felére már felépül.

Alakul a LB poszt: Florida State even thinner at linebacker with Matthew Thomas out 3-4 months

Gyakorlatilag van öt egészséges linebacker, amelyből négy pontosan nulla rutinnal bír egyetemi szinten, és abból kettő eddig többet volt sérült, mint nem. Ez még úgy is rohadt kevés, ha tudjuk, hogy a snapek túlnyomó többségében csak két LB van pályán.

Jimbo Fisher nem ígérte meg neki, hogy kezdeni fog. De nyilván nem véletlenül jött Golson. A játékos szemszögéből érthető a dolog, itt jó eséllyel lehet kezdő QB. Ha ez az év jól sikerül, akkor pedig lehet sansz bekerülni az NFL-be.

Akkor azért sokkal beljebb nem lett a csapat, jól van.

Maguire-nál feltétlenül jobb, bár rá is épp jellemző a hektikusság. Egyik meccsen Heisman-forma (pl. az FSU ellen tavaly), a másikon meg botrány (van, mikor 60 perc alatt képes ilyen pálfordulásra, lásd az Arizona State ellen 2014-ben)

Akkor Everett Golson érkezett.

A does-it-all secondary talent who has already started 28 college games heading into his junior season, Ramsey would have been the top safety taken in the 2015 draft had he been allowed to enter. He has length, range and exceptional instincts to make plays all over the field.

On the 2015 team, Fisher said, “I feel very good. They got things to work on. But it’s a talented group. Now we have to take talented players and turn them into good football players. It’s going to be a process but I like what I see. I like the hunger in their eyes and like their work ethic.”

Fisher, for the most part, likes the playoff system, although he did have a problem with way the committee was all over the map with their criteria last season, eventually spotting the Seminoles at No. 3. But he does have one worry about the way the system is currently set up.

“That’s the whole thing about college football that I’m worried about, that winning the Orange Bowl doesn’t mean anything anymore,” he said. “When I was a kid I could tell you who won the Sugar Bowl, the Cotton Bowl, the Rose Bowl, the Orange Bowl. We still had a national champion but they all still matter. Now you go 12-2 and win an Orange Bowl or a Sugar Bowl and you’re saying that’s not. … something’s wrong with that now.
