The Raiders’ players have already bought into Pete Carroll’s get down. The legendary head coach assembled a coaching staff composed of holdovers from the previous regime, coaches he’d worked with in the past and a batch of newcomers, and they’ve collectively ingratiated themselves with the roster. They’re serious and know what they’re talking about, but they’ve created a loose, fun and positive environment at team headquarters.

Carroll’s “compete” mantra is a bit cliché, but it’s come to fruition for the Raiders as there’s several battles for starting roles on both sides of the ball. The process of instilling his culture is still ongoing, of course, but Carroll made significant progress in OTAs. For a franchise on its fourth head coach since moving to Las Vegas in 2020, that process being successful is instrumental to putting an end to the constant turnover.

It was widely reported that Darnold was on the Raiders’ radar earlier this offseason, but Brady disapproved of the move:

“While some believed the Las Vegas Raiders would try to sign Darnold, minority owner Tom Brady—a seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback whose opinion held great sway—was not in favor of that approach, according to a source familiar with the franchise’s internal discussions,” Michael Silver wrote.

Instead, the Raiders opted to trade for QB Geno Smith, and Darnold went on to sign a 3-year/$100.5M deal with the Seahawks.

Veteran running back Raheem Mostert called Jeanty a "generational talent."

"The biggest thing that impressed me the most was that he was able to break and take it another 60 yards," Mostert said. "That's something that's not necessarily going on out there in the world right now." "Just today, he caught a couple of balls and you're like, 'Man, he's going to be special.'"

"He caught the ball well, understood stuff, took everything seriously [and] gave terrific effort throughout," Carroll said Thursday. "We made a big deal of him -- 'Everybody's watching you' -- and he embraced the thought of it. And so, it's going to be exciting to see what happens."

"He's such a coachable guy that you can do a lot of things with him," Chip Kelly said. "I think he can play in the slot [and] in the backfield."

Bengals-nál főként MLB volt, de mozgott WLB poszton is.
Érdekes lesz látni mi a megosztás, szerep majd Roberts és közte...most azt mondom, hogy ők ketten lesznek talán a nickel base páros, ami azért cover terén nem megnyugtató, de futást tudják majd fogni...
