Dolphins’ QB Tua Tagovailoa passed for 466 yards today, the fourth-most passing yards in a season-opening game in NFL history, trailing only Norm Van Brocklin, (554 yards in 1951), Tom Brady (517 yards in 2011) and Dan Marino (473 yards in 1994).

Tyreek Hill registered 215 receiving yards today, the third-most receiving yards in a season-opening game in NFL history, trailing only Frank Clarke (241 yards in 1962) and Anquan Boldin (217 yards in 2003).

zach sieler-el hosszbbítva.

On Sunday Morning, the Miami Dolphins gave defensive tackle Zach Sieler a 3-year contract extension worth up to $38.65 million with $20 million guaranteed. Sieler will turn 28 years old on September 7th and has been a fantastic player since joining the Dolphins in 2020. He has started 33 of 53 games with Miami and has ten sacks during his time with the organization. In 2022, Sieler started 15 of 17 games and had 3.5 sacks and 70 tackles.

The Baltimore Ravens waived Sieler in December of 2019. Miami claimed him off waivers at that time, and since then, he has been a staple on Miami’s defensive line and emerged as a big contributor. As he is about to turn 28 years old, Sieler will be a cornerstone player for the Miami Dolphins defensive line for the near future. The signing does make you wonder, though, if this means Christian Wilkins may not get a new deal now, and will Miami use the franchise tag on him next offseason? Or are they content with letting him walk and gaining a compensatory pick for him in 2025? There is also the notion that Miami could trade him at this point, knowing Sieler will be in Miami beyond this season, but that seems highly unlikely for a team with such lofty goals and high hopes heading into the 2023 season. With Sieler signed, though, all eyes will shift to Wilkins.
