Elias Says"Aaron Rodgers reached the 1500-pass mark in the Packers' 20-17 loss at Atlanta. Not only does Rodgers now qualify for career passing categories such as completion percentage and passer rating, but he immediately assumed the lead in the latter category. When Rodgers left the field on Sunday, his 97.28 career passer rating was fractionally higher than that of Philip Rivers (97.27), who moved past Steve Young (96.8) earlier this month as the leader.
But Rodgers was the leader for only a few hours. Rivers completed 19 of 23 passes for 185 yards (0 TD, 0 INT) in the Chargers' 36-14 win over the Colts on Sunday night. That moved him back into the lead, with a 97.34 career rating."
"Nate Kaeding made all five of his field-goal attempts on Sunday night, raising his career field-goal average to 86.6 percent. That moved Kaeding ever so slightly past Mike Vanderjagt (86.5%) for the all-time NFL lead. The difference in their percentages is equivalent to one field goal every 607 attempts."
"Matt Ryan completed 24 of 28 passes (86%) in the Falcons' victory over the Packers, tying a team record for completion percentage in one game that has stood for 26 years (minimum: 20 passes). The mark was set by Steve Bartkowski against the Lions in September 1984 (also 24-for-28). It was the second-highest completion percentage ever posted against the Packers; Vinny Testaverde of the Bucs went 22-for-25 (88%) against Green Bay in 1992."
"With the Falcons' victory on Sunday, Matt Ryan improved his record to 19-1 in regular-season home games. Ryan became the first quarterback in nearly three decades to win at least 19 of his first 20 home starts. The last QB to do so was Danny White of the Cowboys (1980-1982)."
"Shaun Suisham kicked field goals of 45, 46, 48, and 41 yards in the Steelers' 19-16 overtime win at Buffalo. No other player in NFL history kicked four field goals of 40 yards or longer, including an OT game-winner, in one game, but Suisham has done it twice. Sunday's performance was a reprise of his 5-FG effort for the Redskins in a 23-20 overtime victory over the Jets in 2007."
"Peyton Hillis ran for three touchdowns in the Browns' 24-23 victory over the Panthers. Hillis has scored 13 touchdowns this season, 11 of them on the ground, becoming the first Browns player ever to score at least 10 rushing TDs in his first season with the team. Jim Brown rushed for nine touchdowns in a 12-game season as a rookie (1957), and Jamal Lewis scored nine rushing TDs in 2007, his first season after leaving the Ravens."
"A windy November day at Soldier Field proved no match for Jay Cutler, who threw four TD passes in the Bears' 31-26 victory over the Eagles. Cutler, who passed for four TDs in a home victory over the Vikings last December, became the first player to throw four or more TDs in a game at Soldier Field twice."
"Billy Bajema, playing in his 85th NFL game, scored the first touchdown of his career in the second quarter of the Rams' 36-33 win at Denver, and then he scored again less than three minutes later! Before Bajema, henceforth to be known as B.B., no player scored his first two NFL TDs in the same quarter after playing even 50 games without crossing the goal line. The previous record, if that term even applies, was held by Robert Massey, who scored his first TDs on a pair of INT returns in his 48th NFL game (1992)."
"Dwayne Bowe caught three touchdown passes in the Chiefs' 42-24 victory at Seattle. Bowe has caught at least one TD pass in each of his last seven games, and he has a total of 13 TD receptions during that time. Since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, only two other players caught as many as 13 touchdown passes over a span of seven games: Jerry Rice (16 in 1987) and Sterling Sharpe (13 in 1994)."
"Jamaal Charles gained 173 rushing yards and Dwayne Bowe had 170 receiving yards on Sunday. It was the first regular-season game in NFL history in which teammates reached the 170-yard mark by rushing and receiving, respectively. But it was done once in the postseason - in a Super Bowl, in fact. Timmy Smith rushed for 204 yards and Ricky Sanders gained 193 receiving yards in the Redskins' 42-10 victory over the Broncos in SB XXII."
"The Seahawks remain in first place in the NFC West despite falling to 5-6 with Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. The only other time in NFL history that a team below .500 led its division at least 10 games into a season was in 1970 when the Browns, Steelers, and Bengals shared first place in the AFC Central with 5-6 marks."
"Eli Manning threw a pair of touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to rally the Giants to a 24-20 victory over the Jaguars. It was the second time in Manning's career that he threw two TD passes in the fourth quarter to win a game in which the Giants trailed after 45 minutes. The only other player in Giants history with two such games was Phil Simms."
"The Dolphins held the Raiders to 16 yards on 12 carries in their 33-17 victory at Oakland. That matched the second-lowest rushing total ever posted against Miami, who held the Broncos to 14 rushing yards in a victory at Denver two seasons ago.
Oakland gained 16 rushing yards in a game against the Dolphins once before - in Miami's first NFL game, a 23-14 Raiders victory in 1966. Joe Auer returned the opening kickoff of that game 95 yards to give Miami a quick 6-0 lead. We mention that because on Sunday, Jacoby Ford became the first Raiders player ever to return a game's opening kickoff for a TD."

Elias Says"James Sanders intercepted Peyton Manning's pass with just over 30 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to thwart a potential game-tying or game-winning drive, end a Colts comeback attempt and deliver a 31-28 victory to the Patriots. The interception came on a first-down play from the Patriots' 24-yard line.
It was the second time in their last three games that the Colts lost a close game with Manning throwing an interception with less than a minute remaining on his final drive. But in Sunday's game at Foxborough, the Colts were already in range of a potentially game-tying field goal; it was the first time in Manning's NFL career that he has thrown an interception in the last minute of the fourth quarter on a play starting in enemy territory with his team either tied or trailing by no more than a field goal."
"Peyton Manning threw three interceptions, including a crucial one late in the fourth quarter, in the Colts' loss to the Patriots. Hours later, Eli Manning threw three interceptions and lost a crucial fumble late in the fourth quarter in the Giants' loss at Philadelphia.
Since Eli turned pro in 2004, Sunday was the first day on which each Manning brother committed at least three turnovers."
"The Eagles sealed their 27-17 victory over the Giants on the strength of two big fourth-quarter runs by LeSean McCoy-a 50-yard go-ahead touchdown and a 40-yarder that set up the clinching field goal. For the game, the Eagles averaged 5.7 yards per carry, the tenth time in ten games this season that the Eagles have averaged at least four yards per pop. That tied an NFL record; only two other teams have averaged four yards or better in each of their first 10 games in a season: the 1934 Bears (led by Bronko Nagurski and Beattie Feathers) and the 1970 St. Louis Cardinals (led by MacArthur Lane)."
"Aaron Rodgers had a career-high four touchdown passes and no interceptions as he led the Packers to a 31-3 win over the Vikings in Minneapolis. Though he had never before thrown four touchdown passes in a game, it was the eighth game in which he had three-or-more touchdown passes and no interceptions. Only two other players in history have accumulated as many games of that type within three seasons of their first NFL start: Tom Brady had eight from 2001 to 2003 and Kurt Warner had nine from 1999 to 2001."
"The Jaguars outlasted the Browns, 24-20, despite committing six turnovers to Cleveland's one (an interception on the Browns' last offensive play of the game). Six weeks earlier, the Jaguars defeated the Bills, 36-26, despite committing three turnovers to none for Buffalo.
Those are the only two games in Jacksonville's 16 years in the NFL in which it won a game despite committing at least three more turnovers than did its opponent. And you have to go back 10 years to find the last season in which one NFL team won a game in which it finished at minus-five (or worse) and won another in which it finished at minus-three (or worse); the Titans did that in 2000. (Apparently, it's kind of a 10-year thing; before the Titans, the last team to have done it was the Dolphins in 1990.)"
"Bryan McCann returned a punt 97 yards for a touchdown, the second-longest punt return in Cowboys history and the longest in the NFL since Robert Bailey set the league record with a 103-yard return for the Rams in a 1994 game at New Orleans.
McCann's return came a week after his 101-yard interception return led the Cowboys to a victory over the Giants. He became only the third player in NFL history with touchdown plays of 95-or-more yards in each of two consecutive games; Cecil Turner of the Bears did that in 1970 and Tony Horne of the Rams followed suit in 1999. (Turner and Horne each scored their long touchdowns on a pair of kickoff returns.)"
"Drew Brees passed for 382 yards in the Saints' victory over the Seahawks. It was his 34th game throwing for 300-or-more yards in his five seasons with New Orleans, the highest total for any NFL player over any five-season slice of NFL history."
"The Redskins won in overtime in Nashville, 19-16, for their fifth win this season - and the fifth win in which they have scored fewer than 20 points. Over the last 30 seasons, only one other NFL team has won its first five games in a season without scoring as many as 20 points in any of those games - the 2006 Broncos did that and, yes, their head coach was the current head man of the Redskins, Mike Shanahan."
"Santonio Holmes caught the game-winning touchdown pass with 10 seconds remaining-a big play, without a doubt, but he has made bigger-as the Jets continued their assault on the nervous systems of thousands of New Yorkers with a we've-got-it, we've-lost-it, we've-won-it victory over the Texans. Following up on a pair of overtime wins in which victory seemed utterly unlikely, it was the third straight game in which the Jets scored the winning points in the last 10 seconds of the game. The last NFL team to do that: Tennessee in the 2006 season."
"Ryan Fitzpatrick, formerly Carson Palmer's backup with the Bengals, led the Bills as they overcame a 28-7 Bengals lead to walk away with a 49-31 victory in Cincinnati. It was the largest margin of victory in NFL history by a team that had overcome a deficit of at least 21 points.
Moreover, it was only the second time in NFL history that a team that came into a game with a record at least seven games below .500 had fallen behind by as many as 21 points and still won. On the corresponding Sunday of last season, the Lions (who had entered the game at 1-8, the same record that the Bills possessed coming into Sunday) overcame a 21-point deficit to beat the Browns, 38-37. But that game was played in Detroit, so the Bills became the first such team to engineer such a comeback victory on the road."
"Ed Reed and Ray Lewis intercepted consecutive fourth-quarter passes by Brian St. Pierre, and each was returned for a score to secure the Ravens' 37-13 triumph over the Panthers in Charlotte. (Following Reed's interception, he tossed a lateral to Dawan Landry, who scored.) It marked the first time since 2003 that an NFL quarterback had seen two consecutive passes intercepted and returned for touchdowns in the same game. The last player to do it was Joey Harrington of the Lions, in a game against the Vikings."
"The Seahawks, the Cardinals, the 49ers and the Rams all lost on Sunday, marking the second time this season that the four NFC West teams have all lost in the same week; it also happened in the season's second week. It's the first time since the NFL split into eight divisions in 2002 that one division has had a pair of 0-4 weeks in the same season."

Két további adat a vasárnapi meccsekről:"Pats rookie TE Rob Gronkowski is 1st rookie TE w/ 3 TD catch game in 20+ years (Eric Green, 10/14/90)"
"KC-Den had 9 TD passes w/ 0 INTs. That's only 2nd time in NFL history that's happened (11/23/03, Bal vs Sea)"
"Of all the crazy events, facts and statistics about the Eagles-Redskins game on Monday, we liked this one the best: the Eagles had 332 passing yards and 260 rushing yards. There's been only one other NFL game over the last 30 seasons in which a team had at least 300 passing and 250 rushing yards, and it featured the same head coaches as Monday's game. On Oct. 30, 2005, in the only game before Monday in which Mike Shanahan and Andy Reid had faced each other, Shanahan's Broncos threw for 309 and ran for 255 in a 49-21 win over Reid's Eagles."
"Michael Vick's 88-yard touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson on the first play from scrimmage was the longest TD pass in the opening minute of a game in just over 41 years, since Roman Gabriel threw a 93-yard touchdown to Wendell Tucker in the opening minute of a 41-30 Rams win over the 49ers on Nov. 9, 1969."

Ryan perfekt, 158.3-as ratinggel zárta a meccset.
