Tegnap az év eddigi legpontgazdagabb FCS vs FCS meccsén. ahol nem volt OT, 15 kísérletből futott 211 yardot és 2 TD-t a 24.
helyen rangsorolt Chattanooga ellen. A Catamounts 52-50-re nyert úgy, hogy mindössze 19 percet volt nálunk a labda, de ezalatt 551 yardot tettek meg 41 kísérletből. A Western Carolina, amely soha nem nyerte meg a divízióját már 2 rangsorolt skalpnál tart (Samford és most a Mocs).Rajtuk kívül ez csak a bajnok SDSU-nak, a szárnyaló Idaho-nak, és a bukdácsolgató Eastern Washington, Northern Arizona párosnak sikerült összehozni idén.

Amúgy az Idaho-Sacramento State úgy lett 36-27, hogy 1 MÁSODPERCCEL a vége előtt még 27-27 volt,. Aztán jött egy Ricardo Chavez 30 yardos FG majd a Sac State lateral bohóckodás közben elveszetette a labdát és a Vandals köszönte szépen Ormanie Arnold révén visszavitte TD-re.

Megvan az újabb FCS upset W, a Sacramento State megverte a Stanfordot 30-23-ra! Az eddigi toronymagasan legnagyobb FBS skalp idén a másodosztály 4 eddigi idei sikeréből. Azt hittem a HC cserével kidurran a Hornets, de Andy Thompson alatt már 3-0-val állnak. Hogy még pikánsabb legyen a dolog, a Cardinal edzője az a Troy Taylor, aki tavaly még a Sac State HC-je volt. Íme a győztes TD.

A Top 10-ből minden rangsorolt csapat nyert, aki FCS-es ellenféllel játszott, pl. a South Dakota State 70-7-re mosta le a Drake-t Minnesotában a Twins baseball csapat otthonában. A Holy Cross pedig a Yalet tángálta el 49-24-re. Matthew Sluka lassan a másodvonal egyik, ha nem a legjobb QB-ja lesz. A Weber State és az Idaho a Top 10-ből nem tudta követni a Hornets példáját, előbbi a Utah-tól kapott ki 31-7-re, míg Gevani McCoyék a Cal ellen vesztettek 31-17-re.

A nap meccsén a 15. Southern Illinois 9 másodperccel a vége előtt fordította meg 13. SEMO elleni összecsapást és nyert 26-25-re.

Volt egy 91-0-ás kiütés is. A Portland State ennyire verte el a North American-t. Ez a 4. legtöbb szerzett pont az FCS-ben az elmúlt 25 évben:

A múlt heti kínos 0-42 után 3 FBS skalpot szedtek az FCS csapatok. A Southern Illinois 14-11-re verte a Northern Illinois-t. Tavaly is gyűjtöttek egy első osztályú elleni győzelmet a Northwestern ellen. A Salukis volt az egyedüli csapat, amely nyert tavaly FBS-es csapat ellen, ls nem jutott playoff-ba. Nem sokáig maradtak egyedül, mert előbb a Fordham gyűrte le a Buffalo-t 40-37-re. Az egykori első osztályú Idaho-ról sok szó esett itt a héten. Gevani McCoy-ért voltak a favoritok a Nevada ellen, és a Vandals 33-7-re kiütötte ellenfelét.

21 hónap alatt harmadszor csapott össze az 1. helyen rangsorolt South Dakota State és a Montana State Mark Gronowski-ék egy fordulatos találkozón nyertek végül 20-16-ra.

A nap teljesítménye Dylan Laube nevéhez fűződik. Bár a New Hampshire végül elvesztette 45-42-re a Central Michigan elleni találkozót, a RB új FCS rekordot jelentő 295 elkapott(!) yarddal végzett. Ebben benne volt egy 80 és 71 yardos TD elkapással. Igazi YAC tenyésztő, a yardokból 262 jött az elkapás után. 370 all purpose yarddal végzett, így 2 meccs után 600-nál jár. Tavaly vezette az FCS-t ebben a kategóriában, elképesztő, 194 yardos átlaggal.

A Sun Beltben voltak utoljára az FBS-ben, de nem hosszabbított velük a konferencia a 4 éves kvázi próbaidő után és nem volt más ajánlat az FBS-ből. A Sun Belt elött voltak függetlenek is egy kis ideig. Gondolom úgy voltak vele, hogy akkor költségvetési szempontból gazdaságosabb nekik az FCS és a Big Sky. Bár most az egyik legígéretesebb FCS QB ugyebár náluk van Gevani McCoy személyében.
