OFFENSE

■ QB Blake Bortles and four of the five starting offensive linemen played 54 snaps.

■ Detroit blitzed Bortles eight times — six five-man pressures and two six-man rushes. Bortles was 3-of-7 passing for 53 yards (plus one pass interference penalty) against the blitz.

■ Bortles scrambled four times for 38 yards, all against four-man rushes.

■ The Jaguars scored a touchdown on their opening drive despite tough sledding by the offensive line. LG Zane Beadles had three minus plays (two bad run blocks and a penalty), LT Luke Joeckel was bull-rushed by DE Phillip Hunt, and RT Jermey Parnell had a bad run play.

■ RB T.J. Yeldon played the first 11 snaps, posting rushes of 2, 2, 4, 0 and 0 yards and making an eight-yard catch. He made his catch four yards downfield and forced a missed tackle by LB Travis Lewis and stiff-armed CB Darius Slay.

■ It was easy pickings for WR Rashad Greene on a third-and-6 play from the Lions’ 21. Lined up in the right slot, he was matched against LB Stephen Tulloch and used a double move to get open for a 17-yard gain.

■ On WR Allen Hurns’ 4-yard touchdown catch, Lions CB Rashean Mathis thought he had safety help, but Glover Quin bit on the play-action fake to Yeldon, leaving the middle of the field open.

■ To start the second drive, Bortles threw incomplete under pressure when Beadles was run over and Joeckel was beaten to the inside.

■ A well-designed play freed up TE Marcedes Lewis for a 24-yard gain on a third-and-4 snap. Lewis and Greene ran shallow crosses, and Greene collided (or set a pick on) three Lions defenders. Lewis gained 20 yards after the catch.

■ On the third drive, Joeckel had two more minus plays, a pressure and a QB hit by Hunt.

■ RB Denard Robinson gained 16 yards on a screen pass with help from RG Tyler Shatley, who had a downfield block on Tulloch.

■ On Bortles’ final drive, he scrambled for 11 yards when RB Bernard Pierce came across his face to pick up a blitzing Hunt.

■ TE Clay Harbor’s injury occurred away from the play and was non-contact, he tried to make a cut and rolled his ankle.

DEFENSE

■ The Jaguars’ starters sent five pass rushers on five of 16 Detroit drop-backs. Against the blitz, the Lions were 3-of-5 passing for 90 yards, including Golden Tate’s 62-yard touchdown.

■ The blitzes: Two when LB Telvin Smith/LB Paul Posluszny and DE Chris Clemons dropped into zone coverage; Posluszny rush; Smith rush; and LB Dan Skuta rushing/Clemons dropping.

■ DE Andre Branch and DE Ryan Davis were the victims of friendly fire. Branch was in pursuit when CB Aaron Colvin went low to hit the ball carrier, but instead hit Branch’s left knee (sprained MCL). Davis was on the receiving end of a hit from LB Telvin Smith but returned to the game.

■ To close the first drive, Smith did great work in coverage, running with speedy Lions RB Ameer Abdullah on a wheel route 20 yards down the right sideline.

■ Missed tackles: Two for SS Craig Loston and one each for Skuta and CB Davon House.

■ DE Jared Odrick almost had an interception on the Lions’ second drive when Pettigrew briefly blocked him before releasing into a screen. Odrick read it and forced the incompletion and a failed third down.

■ No sacks for the Jaguars, but DT Roy Miller beat rookie LG Laken Tomlinson for a hit on Matthew Stafford.

■ Stafford held the ball for 3.31 seconds on his touchdown to Tate, who caught the pass in stride at the 20-yard line. Colvin’s coverage was terrible, but the throw was perfect.

■ The most disappointing possession for the Jaguars was the 95-yard march late in the second quarter. On third-and-1, rookie RB Zach Zenner gained 41 yards around the right side. Among the many things that went wrong was Colvin attempting to set the edge against RT Cornelius Lucas.

■ Stafford’s last pass was a 4-yard touchdown to WR Corey Fuller on a quick slant. House was in coverage and didn’t get his hands on Fuller. He must have been expecting a fade to the corner of the end zone because he was also playing slightly outside leverage.

■ The defense forced a three-and-out to start the third quarter (QB Dan Orlovsky was in the game). Skuta was unblocked to stop RB George Winn for a 3-yard loss and then limited Winn to a 2-yard gain. Orlovsky threw incomplete on third down.

1. Miért tradelné el a Seattle az egyik jobb playmakerét, mikor idén is a Superbowl a cél a számukra?
2. Irvin 2015 után FA lesz, tehát a Jaguars csak 16 meccsre tudná biztosan a soraiban tudni (mondjuk szezon közben is lehet vele hosszabbítani.... Ik.)
3. Dave Caldwell nem híres arról, hogy feladna egy 1. vagy 2. napos picket egy veteránért.
4. Mindezek ellenére Halloren gondolkodás nélkül meglépné a cserét.

A waiver sem jelenthet megoldást, mert a Bucs és Titans előttünk van, és mindkét csapatnak jól jönne egy jobb kirakott pass rusher. Csak esetleg egy 3. napos picket lehetne beáldozni, hogy ezt megelőzzük.

Andre Branchnek MCL ficama van, pár hétig nem lesz bevethető. Ha Marks sem épül fel, akkor könnyen lehet, hogy 2 inaktív DLünk lesz kereten az első hetekben, bár Gus továbbra is bízik abban, hogy Sen' Derrick felépül.

Windmill hiányában nem Clemons, hanem Chris Smith kapja majd valószínűleg az 1st és 2nd downos snapek nagy részét, és Skuta is játszhat majd LEOt.. Ez eléggé beszédes avval kapcsolatban, hogy jelenleg mennyire számítanak Clemonsra a Jaguarsban.

Bortles stajai picivel több, mint 1 félidő alatt - 29/20 245 passzolt yard, 1 TD. 0 benyelt sack, 38 futott yard, 10/12 3rd downon(!!!). Teljesen rendszeridegen statok ezek egy Jaguars QBtől. 😀
82, 80, 83 és 68 yardos driveokat vezetett, a harmadikból azért nem lett pont, mert rámentünk 4.re is a 5 yardos környékén. Baromi jó volt látni ma is a játékát.
Eddigi előszezon statjai: 110 snap, 60/39 461 passzolt yard, 42 futott yard 5 carryből, 1 passzolt és 1 futott TD, 0 INT.
És Julius Thomas meg Lee nincs is még pályán!
Egyéb pozítvumok:
Az egész O-fal nem volt rossz, bár Joeckelnek volt megint 2 látványos hibája (meg egy pár király blokkja is, de arról senki e fog beszélni, bezzeg a hibáiról...). És Tyler Shatley gond nélkül helyettesíteni tudta a megsérült Lindert.
Nick Marshall és Walters szerintem beverekedte magát az 53ba. Cap Capi továbbra is hatékonyabb, mint Andre Branch. Az egyik talán practice squados lesz, a másik meg lehet kezd...
A Bortles- Hurns duó ma hatékonyabb volt, mint a Bortles- A-Rob tandem, de Blake mindig megtalált egy jó célpontot, és ezt remek volt látni. Hurns rendszeresen megszívatta a Jags történetének legjobb CBjét, Rashean Mathist.

Azért volt pár dolog, ami nem tetszett.
A kezdő D megint harmatgyengének tűnt, pass rush továbbra sem volt. Idén azt hiszem miattuk többet fogunk szentségelni, mint az offense miatt!
Yeldonnak még van hova fejlődni, pl 2 olyan helyzet is volt, amikor ment előre bele a falba, mikor tőle balra ott volt a rés. A TDje se volt szerintem TD... Ezzel szemben a túloldalon Abdullah és a meccs MVPje, Zach Zenner (szintén rookie RBk) villogtak. remélem, hogy csak az 1. NFL meccs miatt voltak ilyen hibái. Mondjuk az elkapások mentek neki, csak nem ezért draftoltuk...
Mondjuk a futásblokkolásban a fal sem mindig jeleskedett ma.
A. J. Cann egyelőre max STben lesz hasznos, a G poszt NFLben még sok neki...
És a sérülések: megsérült Branch (mondjuk nem vettük észre a hiányát utána, sőt...) Harbor, Hurns és Linder. Allen Robinsont és Ryan Davist is ápolni kellett, de ők visszatértek később.
Hurns és Harbor sérülése nem tűnt komolyan, előbbit óvatosságból vették ki inkább.
Remélem Linderé sem komoly, mert az nagy érvágás lenne.

Update: Linder vissza tudott volna jönni Gus szerint, Windmill viszont megy MRIre a térdével. Nem akarok senkinek semmi rosszat kívánni, de az ő kidőlése áldás lenne.... lenne hely Cap Capinek a kereten pl.
És Branch sérülése talán rásarkalná a Jagst, hogy mondjuk tradeljen Bruce irvinért(Clemons és Branch úgy is megy a levesbe legkésőbb jövőre, tehát ez a trade kvázi egy hosszú távú projekt is lehetne, egy olyan játékossal, akivel Seattleben működött a mienkhez hasonló védelmi szisztéma). Vagy ha még maradt benya a tankjában, igazoljuk le Dwight Freeneyt vagy ha bevállalósak vagyunk Aldon Smitht, mert 0 veszélyt jelentünk az ellen QBjaira.

*Right guard Brandon Linder sustained a toe injury on his left foot.

“He could have come back and played,” coach Gus Bradley said.

Linder was injured on the opening series and returned to the sideline after getting evaluated.

Tyler Shatley took Linder’s spot with the starters.

*Defensive end Andre Branch is headed for an MRI on his left knee.

“We’ve got our fingers crossed on that one,” Bradley said. “We’ll see. I know he was walking around a little bit in the training room.”

Branch had crutches in the locker room but was telling teammates he didn’t need them.

Branch declined to talk to reporters.

*Receiver Allen Robinson injured his shoulder but returned to the game.

*Receiver Allen Hurns had hip tightness and was held out of the second half as a precaution.

*Tight end Clay Harbor injured his right ankle on the starting offense’s final drive (early third quarter) and didn’t return.

Nem akarom elkiabálni, de Blake is határozottan jobbnak tűnik Olson irányításával, mint szinte minden QB, akivel dolgozott az OCnk, és ebbe még Szöszit is beleértem!

Jerry Sullivan és a Jags stábja egyre elégedettebb Rashad Greenenel. Nemcsak, hogy úgy tűnik a PR poszt is az övé lehet, de ha Lee nem épül fel a szezonnyitóra, akkor ő lehet a 3. WR 3 elkapós felállásoknál.

“The other guy who is coming along is Rashad Greene,” Sullivan said. “Yeah, man, he’s making strides. He has a lot of tools and we like what we see.”

Greene, the Jaguars’ fifth-round draft pick, experienced a slow start to camp — he wasn’t dropping passes, but he wasn’t standing out, either. That was followed by only a brief appearance against Pittsburgh because of Achilles’ tendonitis.

But three days of rest from Aug. 15-17, including sitting out a practice, have helped do the trick for Greene, whose role could be as the No. 3 receiver if Marqise Lee isn’t ready because of a hamstring injury sustained Aug. 5.

Greene has seized the Jaguars’ punt return and slot receiver roles heading into Friday night’s third preseason game against the Detroit Lions, the traditional final tune-up for the starters and key reserves.

Greene had two catches for 14 yards last week against the Giants. As a punt returner, he had a six-yard return and recovered a muff attempt. But he earned his keep with a 37-yard return against Pittsburgh.

“The more reps I’ve got and the healthier I’ve got, I’ve been able to move around the way I want to,” Greene said. “I continue to study and learn from the guys who have been here. I think I’m a pretty good learner and pretty fast learner so when I got a hang for everything, I was able to get right in and compete.”

Said Sullivan: “It took him some time to get comfortable. But I’ve gained respect for him because he hasn’t said a whole lot, but has learned and is getting better as he goes, which is right up my alley.”

What could be up Greene’s alley come Week 1 against Carolina is a role in three-receiver personnel.

Against the Giants, Greene played 18 snaps, all in the slot or in a stacked set closer to the tight end.

Greene’s first reception went for 10 yards on third-and-8 when he broke Bennett Jackson’s tackle to gain seven yards after the catch.

“That was critical for me because it was a catch that moved the chains,” Greene said.

Greene’s second catch was a four-yard gain. Quarterback Blake Bortles had a run-pass option and quickly threw to Greene down the line of scrimmage when a linebacker began shading toward run support. The throw was behind Greene, but he kept his balance.

“And I actually messed up on that play because I had my footwork wrong,” Greene said. “The throw was behind me, but as a receiver, it’s my job to make the catch.”

Said Bortles: “He’s a guy that’s really versatile, explosive and can make plays. Attacking and getting the first down, I think that’s kind of his game.”

Greene’s shiftiness also comes in handy on punt returns. He averaged 12.2 yards on 38 attempts at Florida State, but entered camp as the perceived underdog to Tandon Doss and Bryan Walters. Now he appears to be the front-runner.

“That’s something I’ve always felt like I was natural at doing,” Greene said. “It’s another opportunity to get on the field and compete.”

Greene will see snaps with the starters, who are expected to play into the third quarter.

“We usually say, ‘number of plays,’ but I would like to have a length of time [Friday],” coach Gus Bradley said. “It would be ideal for them to go in at halftime and then come back out and get some plays in the second half.”

FIVE JAGUARS TO WATCH

RB T.J. YELDON

Out the first two preseason games with a sprained finger, Yeldon (above, center) is set to make his Jaguars debut after practicing in pads without restrictions Monday and Tuesday. Expect him to either start or at least run with the starters in the first half. The Jaguars feel they know what they have in Yeldon (their Week 1 starter) so the game should serve as a chance for him to get tackled and pass protect before the opener.

FS JAMES SAMPLE

A game-time decision, Sample took off the non-contact jersey this week; he sustained a broken forearm in early June and had surgery. If he plays, look for Sample to play with the second-team defense to get ready for more snaps next week against Washington. Sample has much catching-up to do before challenging Sergio Brown for the starting spot.

WR TANDON DOSS

The punt return job will likely go to rookie Rashad Greene, but is there still a roster spot for Doss? Maybe. Arrelious Benn (collarbone) was placed on injured reserve Monday, rookie seventh-round pick Neal Sterling (hamstring) will miss his third straight game and Tony Washington had a big drop last week. Doss has two more chances to make an impression.

DE CHRIS CLEMONS

Andre Branch will start at the weak-side defensive end (Leo) spot, but Clemons will probably get 15 or so snaps as a sub-package pass rusher, his probable role in the regular season. Clemons didn’t begin practicing until Aug. 17 and this will be his first — and only — action of the preseason. Clemons has maintained throughout the off-season he’ll be ready for Week 1. We get a glimpse at his sharpness against Detroit.

C/G LUKE BOWANKO

Bowanko lost the center competition to Stefen Wisniewski, who was named the Week 1 starter on Monday. But Bowanko still has much to gain. Look for him to see time at guard once the starters exit the game. If he proves to be effective, it will give the coaches flexibility in deciding which reserve linemen to keep on the 53-man roster.

Smith continued by saying he didn’t think Cruz meant his comments in a bad way. But then I told him about Beckham’s follow up comments that agreed with Cruz’s statement.

“I heard a little bit about that,” Bradley said. “We’ve said we’ll go anywhere, anytime to compete. It doesn’t matter … preseason, regular season … we go out there with intent. I think the guys played hard. I don’t know everything that went on or how the conversation went.

“I thought the coverage was pretty good. I thought it was tighter coverage.”

Hogy ne csak negatívumokat írjak Giantsekről, Tom Coughlin nagyon el volt ragadtattatva Bortles játékáról és fejlődéséről(27:15nél). Lageman szerint (Egykor HC- játékos kapcsolat volt anno köztük itt, máig él a jó viszony) és Coughlin kérdezés nélkül méltatta Borltes fejlődését és játékát. Ez több, mint jó jel. Ha valaki, akkor Coughlin ért a QBkhoz!
Egyén megfigyelések, ezúttal már Lagemantől:
WReknél szerinte is Washington vagy Walters lehet szerinte az 5. számú WR, szerinte Sterlingnek idén még practice squadosnak kell lennie, és TE posztra kell váltania. Hurnsnek ideje lenne Jeff szerint egy picit összekapnia magát, mert idén még semmi látványosat nem látott tőle. Viszont a routjai és blokkolása fejlődött tavalyhoz képest! Szerinte Benn IRre kerülése nem olyan nagy veszteség. Szerinte a WR is azon posztok köött lehet, ahol esetleg a Jaguars majd waiverről hoz valakit 5. embernek, főleg ha Lee még nem épül fel addig.
Szerinte a DBink csak átlagos munkát végeztek a Giants elkapóival szemben. Szerinte ha Eli jobb napot fog ki, megismételődhetett volna az, amit Big Ben csinált az első meccsen(3/3, hosszú TD passz). Ez több mint aggasztó jel 2 meccs után.
Pass rushban számára aggasztó volt, hogy a pass rushereink nem értek általában oda a az ellen QBkhez 3 mp alatt.
Center poszt: szerinte csak annyival játszott Wiez jobban Bowankonál, mint Bowanko a Steelers ellen Wieznél. Szerinte a tackle snapek fölöslegesek Bowankonak, mert Lageman szerint ő nem OT. Nagyon dicsérte még Tyler Shatleyt, aki idén főleg C poszton kapott snapeket, de most OGben is nagyszerű munkát végzett. Szerinte Beadles 2 jó meccsen van túl,vele szemben Cann még egyelőre keresi a helyét a profik között. Most jelenleg Linder, Parnell, Joeckel a 3 legjobb O-falemberünk Lags szerint.
Lags szerint Greg olson érkezése láthatólag nagyon jót tett az offensenek, nagyobb az állandóság. Nem először hallom, hogy Fisch anno szívesen vett át dolgokat az playek közé amiket meccseken látott(Lageman pl. hozza, hogy mikor Grey szétfutotta a Coltsot tavaly, Fisch megpróbálta ugyanezt kopírozni a következő héten, olyan playekkel és felállásokkal, amit addig soha nem csináltunk!)
Sergio Brown szerinte jól játszott a Giants meccsen, de szerinte továbbra is James Sample lesz remélhetőleg előbb, mint utóbb a kezdő FS.
És a legjobb rész, Lageman szerint Branch nem tud egyedül playmaker lenni, valakinek be kell segítenie, hogy összehozzon mondjuk pl. egy nagy sacket. Van benne szerinte fejlődési potenciál, de érdekes kérdés lesz,hogy a Jags meg akarja-e tartani vagy sem.
Szerinte a Lions tökéletes teszt lesz az offense számára, hogy lemérjük mennyit fejlődtek Bortlesék. A találkozó párharca Lageman szerint Ansah vs. Joeckel lesz!

Mai hírek:

Nem edzettek: Lee, Greg Jenkins, Thompson, McCray, Cyprien, Reynolds, Fortt, Thomas, Gerhart Wells újra edzett.

Tony Washinston és Bryan Walters a 2 fő esélyes az 5. WR posztra, most hogy nincs Benn. Sterling jó lenen, ha villantana az utolsó 2 pre-meccsen, hogy eléljük kerüljön.
Gus szerint Rashad Greene egyre jobban teljesít PR poszton, tetszik neki hogyan kezeli a poszttal járó kihívást.

A nap vihar egy kanál vízben hírét Victor Cruz produkálta, aki szerint a Jaguars DBi kipécézték maguknak Odell Beckhamat, és volt néhány alattomos húzásunk.

Asked this, Cruz said: “Yeah, I mean like certain stuff I was seeing on the field. Just when guys have the opportunity to get an interception and they don’t even go for the ball. I get it, it’s [the] preseason and you’re trying to get a job. But let’s just keep it within the game a little bit.”

In that quote, Cruz is probably referring to Jaguars strong safety Craig Loston, but Loston didn’t deliver a hit on Beckham.

A review of the tape showed three run-ins between the Jaguars and Beckham, who played only the first quarter.

1. The Giants’ first offensive play. Beckham ran a deep route, beating Demetrius McCray. After the pass fell incomplete, free safety Sergio Brown delivered a shoulder hit. Beckham got up and start yapping with Brown.

2. On the second drive, a pass over the middle to Beckham was incomplete. Loston had Beckham lined up, but ran by him. It didn’t appear Loston had a chance at an interception.

3. And on an incomplete deep pass to Beckham, he delivered a forearm to Brown, who then pushed back and they started jawing again.

Azzal, hogy Wisniewski lett a C, Bowanko új feladatot kaphat. A héten OTben(!) fogjuk tesztelni!

Az új fiúkról: Will Corbin az Appalachian Staten játszott, az Indynél volt idén, de nemrég elküldték(Colts szemét! 😀). Mister Alexander,az NFLben és a CFLben is megfordult, utóljára 2012ben játszott az NFLben a Texans színeiben. azóta volt a Toronto Argonauts, az Omaha Mammoths, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a Dallas Cowboys és idén a Seattle Seahawks játékosa.

Arrelious Benn nagyon el volt keseredve az IR miatt. Elmondta, hogy a mostani sérülés a legenyhébb az elmúlt 3 év IRt jelentő sérüléseihez képest.

Megvan az első keretmozgás, injured-waiveltünk egy WRt, de nem Arrelious Bennt, hanem Damian Coplemandet. Neki ez sajnos zsinórban a második ilyen szezonja.

És jött helyette egy régi ismerősöm FCS meccsekről, Erik Lora, aki anno Jimmy Garropolo 1. számú WRe volt az Eastern Illinoison. Azóta megfordult a Vikingsban és a Lionsban is. Pályára még nem került az NFLben.

Stefen Wisniewski lett a PFFnél a legjobb játékosunk, utána Hood végzett a második helyen. Hoodra csóválom a fejem, olyan sokat nem csinált érzésem szerint a meccsen...

Sérülés elemző:

CB Demetrius McCray

Injury: Right knee contusion.

What happened: "I was making the tackle and somebody came in low and hit my knee," McCray said. "When I got up and started walking, I felt better. I didn't feel any pop or anything. All I felt was pain. I thought I was good. I tested it on the sideline. It'll be OK. I'll get it checked out [Sunday]. Nothing major. Everything is good."

Concern level: Moderate. There's concern, because McCray is the most valuable player injured. He starts in nickel situations when Aaron Colvin moved inside. However, a contusion wouldn't likely be something that would hold McCray out for the opener against Carolina on Sept. 13.

LB LaRoy Reynolds

Injury: left knee involving the medial collateral ligament.

What happened: "It was a screen play," Reynolds said. "I tried to make the tackle. I jumped into the block then the runner cut me at the last second. I'm good. We'll go to the doctor tomorrow to check it. I feel fine. I think I'm good and look forward to coming back."

Concern level: High. Reynolds' value to the team was telling as most of the defense came over to him on the sidelines to check on him as he sat on the bench. The third-year veteran is clearly a popular player in the locker room. He's also arguably the best special teams player on the roster.

OT Josh Wells

Injury: Dislocated left thumb

What happened: "I dislocated it on kickoff return," Wells said. "Then, it kept dislocating. I'll get it checked out tomorrow. I've never had anything like that."

Concern level: High. The Jaguars don't have much depth at tackle. If Wells is out for a while, the Jaguars would be in dire straits if left tackle Luke Joeckel or right tackle Jermey Parnell went down. Austin Pasztor and Sam Young don't seem suited to be a reliable starter at tackle.

LB Khairi Fortt

Injury: Meniscus issue in knee.

What happened: "It feels like something simple like a sprain, but nothing torn," Fortt said. "It happened on the opening kickoff. My foot caught a little in their turf. I ended up playing through it. Then, I realized I couldn't really extend my leg."

Concern level: Moderate. Fortt is battling for a backup role with Jeremiah George and Thurston Armbrister. If Fortt and Reynolds are both out for an extended time, the Jaguars become woefully thin at linebacker.

WR Arrelious Benn

Injury: Broken collarbone.

What happened: The injury appeared to occur on Benn's 5-yard run.

Concern level: Moderate. Benn was having a strong camp, but with his extensive injury history it's hard to believe the Jaguars thought they would be able to depend on him. The Jaguars seem to have a solid foursome with Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, Marqise Lee and Rashad Greene.

WR Damian Copeland

Injury: Dislocated shoulder.

What happened: It's unclear how Copeland was injured. He seemed fine in the locker room as he was dressed and walking to the bus.

Concern Level: Low. Copeland was injured all of last year and considered a long shot to make the 53-man roster. He would've likely been a guy assigned a large workload in the final preseason game.

Kezdem a jó hírekkel: A Lions ellen bemutatkozik Yeldon és Sample is az NFLben. Clemons pedig megpróbál majd élete lehelni a jelenleg mély kómában lévő pass rushba.

Center poszton még mindig nincs döntés, úgy tűnik Wiez és Bowanko továbbra is rotálódik. ha péntekig nem lesz megnevezve a kezdő, akkor árulkodó lesz, hogy ki kapja majd az első snapeket.

Gus 6 WR dropot számolt össze a felvételek alapján, viszont a futójátékkal nagyon elégedett. (Utóbbival én is).

Joeckelt dicsérte, dőleg a pwer rush ellen és a futásblokkolásban nyújtott nagyon bíztató teljesítményt.

Greenet dicsérte a punt returnök miatt, szerinte egyre magabiztosabb ezen a poszton. Egyre inkább úgy tűnik Rashadé lesz a PR poszt. (nem jó hír Bryan Waltersnek és Dossnak ez nem jó hír, bár előbbi nek van sansza 5. számú WRnek lenni, most hogy Benn kidőlt.

Benn esetében erősen sanszos a waived/injured megoldás. Ha nem kell senkinek, megy IRre. Reynolds megy MRIre, Wells meg egy kézspecialitáshoz.

Greg Jenkins is összeszedett egy boka zúzódást. van egy érzésem, hogy igazolunk 1 vagy 2 WRt és LBt a jövő héten.

*Denard Robinson started the game with a wallop when he gained four yards while delivering a big shot on S Bennett Jackson.

*The Jaguars ran four snaps of empty backfield with Bortles in the game. Denard Robinson (three plays) and Gerhart (one play) were lined up at receiver.

*The Jaguars’ opening drive included a third-and-9 conversion (10-yard catch by Greene). Bortles had 2.53 seconds to throw when Gerhart picked up a blitz.

*Bortles was 1-of-4 passing for 20 yards on throws that traveled at least 15 yards in the air. The completion was to Allen Robinson (17 in the air).

*Against the Jaguars’ first-team offensive line, New York blitzed six times (two five-man rushes, three six-man rushes and one seven-man rush).

*The Giants’ sack of Bortles was a six-man rush vs. six-man protection. Bortles, who was in trouble in 1.69 seconds when LB J.T. Thomas rushed unblocked when Gerhart and Parnell blocked the same player, said he missed his “hot” receiver, which was Lewis on the right side. He was open.

*Early in the second drive, Denard Robinson did well to get four yards. Lewis was beat by DE Robert Ayers, but Robinson alerting cut back toward the middle of the field.

*Allen Robinson’s 36-yard pass included 34 yards after the catch. He ran a shallow crossing route from left to right and his man, CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, was picked by Lewis, who was running a right-to-left crossing route.

*On Alualu’s three offensive snaps, the Jaguars gained six yards (on third-and-1), three yards (on third-and-2) and four yards (on third-and-1).

*The second drive ended with a Bortles’ incompletion/semi-throwaway. He was flushed from the pocket when DT Cullen Jenkins beat Linder and DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa bull-rushed Parnell. Later, Linder was beat by DT Jay Bromley, who stopped Denard Robinson for no gain.

*I’m not calling Bortles’ 48-yard incompletion to Hurns a drop because there wasn’t an available replay to make a decision. Allen Robinson, though, did have a drop on a 14-yard pass on second-and-10.

Defense

*The first pass-rushing group: Odrick and Davis at tackle and Branch and Smith at end.

*Odrick and Davis had batted passes on the Giants’ opening drive. Davis got a hand up despite being double-teamed. In the second quarter, Hood also broke up a pass.

*Manning’s first possession passes traveled 28, 38, 11 and four yards besides the two bat-downs.

*The Jaguars were in their nickel defense (five defensive backs) for their entire opening six-play drive.

*Most of the Jaguars’ starters were out of the game after the Giants’ fourth series, the first for QB Ryan Nassib.

**In a combined 17 drop-backs by Manning and Nassib, the Jaguars failed to record a sack. They rushed four on 13 snaps. Their pressure calls came via six-man rush (Smith and Posluszny blitzed) and three five-man rushes (a Smith blitz and two zone pressures – Branch dropped into coverage and Posluszny and Colvin blitzed).

*Against an extra pass rusher, Manning was 1-of-4 passing for 13 yards.

*Among the starters, the only bit of poor tackling came on the same play when Colvin and House couldn’t bring down WR Preston Parker, who gained 10 yards after the catch for a 14-yard gain on third-and-8.

*DE Ike Igbinosun was called for roughing the passer on the opening play of the second half. On the next drive, LB Thurston Armbrister was penalized 23 yards for pass interference.

*LB Jeremiah George led the Jaguars with eight tackles and SS Craig Loston had seven. Smith had the only sack.

Special teams

*There were two penalties – Damian Copeland was off-side covering a kickoff and Nick Marshall was off-side on a missed 46-yard field goal attempt. The Giants ended that drive with a touchdown.

*Back-up LT Josh Wells (thumb) and LB Khairi Fortt (knee) were both injured playing special teams.

*Greene had a six-yard punt return but later muffed a punt (he recovered).

*K Josh Scobee’s lone kickoff was a touchback (4.31-second hang time).
