The debate for the second spot in the ACC Championship between a 6-2 team with a head-to-head win over a 7-2 team is going to be immense stuff.

ACC officially announces that 2026 will be a "transition year" before fully moving to a nine-game football schedule in 2027.

Twelve teams will play a 9+1 schedule (nine ACC games plus at least one Power Four non-conference opponent) while five teams will play an 8+2 schedule (eight ACC games paired with at least two Power Four non-conference matchups).
