amúgy meg nem kell szerénykedni. megérdemeltük és a patriots is kapott végre egy arcon csapást, hogy szálljanak le a magas lóról. elig volt belőllük. élvezkedhettek sok sok éven át. szopóka, hogy azt a sok évvel ezelőtti alázást a szezonnyitó meccsükön szintén egy csoportellenféltől kapták.

most hogy leírtam a patriots ellenes szövegem (és néhányan már küldenék is tulipán jimmy-t hozzám) továbbra is fenntartom, hogy ők az esélyesek, nem beszélve hogy januárban is folytatják. mielőtt elkezdenék örömködni hogy van futójáték azért én még megnéznék 2-3 meccset. az tény hogy nincsenek szavak, hogy egy év életképes futójáték nélküli szezon után élmény volt látni morenoékat.

ne felejtsük el, hogy nekünk a buffalo a mumusunk. igaz, jó ómen, hogy nem thad lewis irányít már náluk.

"The Jury is Still Out

Ryan Tannehill did one thing really well during the Patriots game that I don't think he gets enough credit for. He made a lot of the correct reads, and really surveyed the field and looked opponents off much better than I have ever seen him do before. He really did a great job finding the open receivers, other than the TD to Wallace which had Hartline wide open and he chose to stare down Wallace and throw it into coverage.

The problem is his ball placement was pretty bad. He definitely didn't make it easy on his receivers and it showed in the stats with dropped passes and missed opportunities like the deep pass out of bounds to Wallace. The drop by Clay was a ball that should have been caught too, but when the player is running away from you and you put the ball on the guys hip, it's not an easy catch to make. Even the Wallace fumble could have been avoided had Tannehill put the ball where it was supposed to be. The problem is the ball wasn't able to get tucked away properly before the hit came because it was low and behind him. Tannehill could have had a monster game, and we could have put close to 50 points up if he would have done a better job of this.

Speaking of Mike Wallace, he really got open a LOT! And many times it was against Revis. This offense is built around him and he showed us why. His route running was much improved. But he left a lot of meat on the bone overall. His hands were suspect at times. Part of that blame is on Tannehill, and part of it is on Wallace. He had a chance to get 2 feet in. He still needs to tuck that ball away better before he makes a football move. And he dropped another one right in his hands. He could have easily had 150 yards and 2 TD's. He will never be a guy who catches everything, so maybe we just need to tamper our expectations.

Jawuan James had a very solid performance for a rookie, both in the run game and the passing game. This is in the category of the jury still being out, because he didn't exactly face a monster on the other side. He should get a much bigger test next week against Mario Williams who I expect to be shifted in order to test him.

Surprise Performances

The biggest surprise of the day was how well Samson Satele did against Vince Wilfork. Part of me wonders if Wilfork just played that poorly, but Bellychick actually shaded Wilfork away from Satele several times because he was beating him so bad with better results. This tells me that Satele really stepped up to the challenge and maybe he really was just in the wrong system in Indy when he struggled.

Earl Mitchell was another surprise. I certainly didn't expect him to have the best day of all defensive tackles. He was penetrating all day long into the backfield with three pressures on the QB and 3 big run stops. Logan Mankins being gone was definitely a factor, but Mitchell made more plays on the interior as a rotational guy than Starks and Odrick who both had pretty good days as well.

When our Linebackers went down and the defense was struggling it looked pretty bleak, but one linebacker who really surprised people was Jalani Jenkins. He really excelled in pass coverage, which helped keep guys like Vereen and Gronkowski from being a factor in the second half.

Bellychick was a surprise to me as well. He was legitimately outcoached on Sunday. The biggest surprise of the day was him wasting Revis by having him man up on Wallace. This left Revis in a bad position, because he struggles against real speed, and at the same time left the rest of the field more open. Then he had no answers for a defensive adjustments in the second half.

Shouldn't Have Surprised Anybody

One thing we knew was going to happen was Brady trying to pick on Will Davis. This was a matchup us Dolphins fans should have seen as a good one for Miami. Davis has been balling all camp, and Sunday was no different. He was targeted 12 times and he wasn't even the starter. That didn't go very well as Brady only completed 3 passes out of 12 thrown his way!

Another thing that shouldn't have surprised us is how well Knowshon Moreno played. Although it was a surprise that Wilfork was a non factor, it was no surprise to see Moreno breaking tackles and making plays. He is on another level from Miller and it showed in the preseason as well. He finished with more Yards After Contact (72) than Yards Before Contact (62).

Chris McCain had himself a big day. But he has been doing that all preseason too. He is destined to be a great pass rushing specialist this season. Hopefully he will be even more going forward."

Moreno is ott van a Fedex Ground player szavazáson, meg mindenhol megzörgette a harasztot a Pets-verés. Még ha pünkösdi is lesz a királyság, attól még pár napig azok voltunk 😀

A PFF look at the Dolphins victory over the Pats

As I did last season, every Tuesday I will share with you the review of the previous Sunday's game (no idea what will happen Monday night) via my friends at ProFootballFocus.com.
The Dolphins dispatched the Patriots 33-20 on Sunday. So most of these grades should be pretty good.
By the way, I recommend a PFF subscription.
Consider:

Offensive summary

Lamar Miller drew the “start,” but was out-snapped by Knowshon Moreno 48-27.
The breakdown of #3 receiver snaps was as follows: Brandon Gibson had 36, Jarvis Landry had 31, Rishard Matthews had 8.
Brandon Albert and Samson Satele came up with two of the bigger performances by any tackle or center in the league in Week One, especially in run-blocking. Albert had a +4.0 grade playing left tackle. Satele, signed in August to fill in for Mike Pouncey had a +3.2 grade.
If Satele continues to perform like this, it gives the Dolphins space to make sure Pouncey is fully ready and fully in football shape to come back from his hip surgery rehab. Maybe they give him two weeks of practice instead of just one.
Second TE Dion Sims is looking at mostly a blocking role; he was asked to block on 24 of his 39 snaps. Understandbly, by the way. He dropped a potential TD pass.

Passing

When pressured, Ryan Tannehill was an only 2-for-10 with 12 yards, with an interception, and a sack taken.
Tannehill’s struggles with the intermediate and deep accuracy continued, going 3-for-11 on throws of 10-yards or more down the field.
As I wrote Monday, OC Bill Lazor wants Tannehill to get better fast.

Rushing

Knowshon Moreno tallied 72 (of his 134) yards after contact and he caused six missed tackles during his breakout afternoon. Moreno is an AFC Player of the Week candidate for sure.
The Dolphins had the most success running right behind their center Samson Satele, recording 73 yards on 12 carries when running up the middle.
Lamar Miller didn’t force any missed tackles, but still had 21 yards after contact of his 59 total on the ground.

Receiving

Mike Wallace was moved around plenty and saw targets against five different Patriot defenders -- Revis (5), Alfonzo Dennard (2), Jerrod Mayo (2), Jamie Collins (1), and Dont'a Hightower (1). Think about this: Mayo, Collins and Hightower are linebackers so Bill Lazor found a way to get WR on LB matchups for Wallace four times during the game.
Moreno had a great day running the ball but didn’t have a single target in the passing game.

Defense

Cameron Wake lapped the rest of the 4-3 DEs this week with a +6.7 grade (the next highest was +3.2), registering two sacks, two hits, and two hurries in the opener. He played well, folks.
Jason Trusnik (66 snaps) and Jelani Jenkins (59 snaps) were the primary nickel linebackers when Koa Misi and Dannell Ellerbe were forced from the game.
Earl Mitchell (+4.1) was a standout performer from the interior line, logging three hurries in the pass rush and three stops in the run game.

Opponents' passing

Tom Brady’s accuracy over 10 yards was also shaky. He was 4-of-22 on passes of 10-plus yards down the field.
When blitzed, Brady was 9-16 for 134 yards. Meanwhile, when not blitzed, Brady went 20-40 for 115 yards and took three sacks.

Coverage

Will Davis was targeted a team-high 12 times, but allowed just three catches. Here’s who he was targeted with, and their catches in parenthesis: Brandon Lafell five targets (0), Kenbrell Thompkins three targets (0), Julian Edelman three targets (2), and Shane Vereen one target (1).
The Dolphins allowed just four catches on 11 Rob Gronkowski targets, with Jelani Jenkins (4 targets, 1 catch) and Brent Grimes (3 targets, 1 catch which was a TD) doing the best work on him.
Safeties Jimmy Wilson and Louis Delmas combined to allow eight catches on 10 targets, but those eight catches went for just 75 yards.

Igen ha Clay van ott nem Sims akkor valószínű TD. Sajnos Sims-nek nincs olyan jó keze. De egy okos play volt.

Wallace is szépen tolta a droppokat. Egyszer lyukas kezű volt és fejen találta a laszti, máskor meg szépen kiverték a kezéből. De a TD-t szépen megkaparintotta, ott is csak egy hajszálon múlott a dolog.
De Lazor hívásai tetszettek. Amit meg benyelt a Pats védelem először, azt a továbbiakban is el tudta adni. Bejött a húzás.

Igen. Nekemis az volt az érzésem akkor, hogy ezt egy top elkapó TD-re váltotta volna. Ez most igy jött ki neki.

megnézve noonkicken a meccset:
Nem semmi dropparádé volt... Oké, nem mindegyik passz volt tökéletes, de számos elkapható volt. Legjobban Simsre haragszom, azt el kellett volna kapni, és TD.

Ellerbe kiesésével megnyílik az út az új emberek előtt kezdőként és én annak örülök azért. Nem voltak rosszak a srácok az első meccsen, szóval nem kell mitől félnünk. Ennél már csak jobbak lehetenek, ahogy egyre jobban belerázódnak, fejlődnek majd.

Sikerült megtekinteni a meccset. Első félidőt még követtem élőben, de csak eredménykövetőn. A másodikat már nem mertem követni.
A meccs előtt nekem is az az érzés volt, hogy jobbak vagyunk, megcsinálhatjuk. És tényleg sikerült. Nekem mindig a Pats elleni meccsek az év fő meccsei.

Lazor szerintem jól mutatkozott be, de az új játékosok közül is sokan jól tolták. Moreno újjáélesztette a jó ideje nem létező futójátékunkat. Nehéz is szavakba önteni amit csinált. Iszonyat dinamikusan, harcosan, keményen küzdött és meglett az eredménye.

Landry-t remélem nem csak returner-ként láthatjuk majd a pályán, de egyelőre van bőven elkapó részleg Tanny számára.

James-t külön figyeltem a meccsen és nagyon éretten játszott ahhoz képest, hogy kik álltak vele szemben. Hightower-t simán lejátszotta a pályáról (egyszer be is idegesedett és eldobta az RT-nket), a rookie Easley nem volt ellenfél, de double-ban Wilfork is meg lett fogva. Váltogatták rajta az embereket, mert még odakeverdett más Pats def tag is, de nem igazán tudták megverni. Mayo-n mondjuk túlszaladt (+ Mayo le is rázta) egy play-ban a 4. negyedben, ami után az LB szerelte az RB-ket, amivel megállította a támadást. A nagyobb hiba viszont a meg nem adott Miller futott TD-nél történt. Csinált egy holdingot, és ez miatt annullálták a 6 pontot.
De összességében az OL jól muzsikált.

Finnegan rúgott, harapott, gesztikulált, ordibált, beszólt minden csinált, de nekem is bejön ez most, mint Geeri kollega írta. Kell ilyen is a csapatba. Nem az esze miatt szeretjük az CB-t, de olyan nagy eget rengető hibákat nem is vétett.

McCain is nagyon tetszett, ST-ben és defense-ben is megfelelően hasznosítható a képességei által. Jó kis utánpótlást gyűjtöttünk OLB poszton, ha már a Wheeler-Ellerbe páros IR + gyengék. Jenkins is mindig akció közelben volt, szorosan fogta az emberét és majd ott lesz Tripp is ha felépül.

23-0 a második félidőben a Pats ellen, ez mindent elmond.

nabazdmeg, elindult a szezon. Sheppard jó - mostfigyelj - volt. Nem véletlenül nem kell a kutyának sem jóideje. Bízni kell Tripp gyógyulásában, és Jelani Jenkinsben, aki igen szépen végezte a feladatát, Brady ki is tért rá név szerint. (Trusnikot is megjegyezte)
Csak Misi maradjon egyben!

Nagyon szép siker volt! Baromira tetszett a játéka a delfineknek. Morenora lehet építeni, és Miller is jól szált be. De engem elsősorban a D# tetszett. Az egész fal jól nyomta, nyilván nem volt túl jó a pass prot. a Patriotsnál, de én imádom ha egy D fal ilyen domináns. Wake, Jankins... jó kis egység ez. 😊
Csak így tovább, örülnék ha idén végre más nyerné már azt az AFC East-ot!

u.i.: a 6. hétre azért örülnék ha majd egy L-kerülne a csapatotok mellé! De azon kívül hajrá!balazs799

Jenkins játékának örülök, belőle kinézem hogy meccseken keresztül tartja a formáját. Trusnik viszont potenciális gyengepont lehet, vagy hogy ne váljon azzá limitálja a lehetőségeinket védekezésben. Szóval örülök, de csak módjával. Hosszú még a szezon.Geeri

Persze az, de jobb egy ilyen szép sikerrel kezdeni! 😊 Amúgy is anti brady és newengland fan vagyok, ha játszanak notorikusan ellenük drukkolok. Ha meg 2 semleges csapat játszik, akkor mindig a "jobb" védelemmel rendelkezőnek. Jó volna látni ezt a fajta keménységet továbbra is a Defense-ben. A linebacker sor közepén lévő gondot pedig nem kell bemutatni... Sajnos nálunk is messze a csapat leggyengébb része, főleg hogy a kezdő NT-ünk is kidőlt előszezonban egész évre. De ebbe csoportotokba nektek drukkolok, meg még a bills-nek. 😊 a front 7 ott is brutál 😀
