All assistant coaches are signed for Lions

The Lions have confirmed the signing of all of their assistant coaches for the 2012 season.

Defensive backs coach Tim Walton and receivers coach Shawn Jefferson were the last to sign on the dotted line.

Walton interviewed with the Rams for their assistant defensive coordinator position last week, but ultimately decided to rejoin the Lions.

The Lions announced the signing of coordinators Gunther Cunningham (defense), Scott Linehan (offense) and Danny Crossman (special teams) earlier this month.

“I think we have a good group of coaches mixed with experience and younger guys, some former players, some guys that never played, but I like that dynamic and I like the consistency,” Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said after the season. “We were consistent from a preparation standpoint, from a game plan standpoint, from week-to-week.”

The Lions coaching staff has remained one of the most consistent since Schwartz took over in 2009.

Az egyik legszarabb ST a miénk. Mostmár a K és P posztokon is gondjaink voltak, visszahordásaink tulajdonképpen nincsenek, ellenben az ellenfél nagyon sokszor jó field pozíciót tud kialakítani ellenünk. Nem is sorolom tovább, érthetetlen.

"Well we really want Calvin here long-term and I think it's important for us, important for Matthew (Stafford), it's important for the fans. He's a great guy on the field, he's a great guy in the locker room and he's a great guy off the field. They don't make many better people than Calvin Johnson. We really want to get this done with him. I think even Cris Carter would say that now (laughter). I've never seen anybody like him ... and you've heard it all before."

Remélem valóban olyan ajánlatot teszünk elé ami visszautasíthatatlan. Nagyon szar lenne,ha a következő offseasonban kellene idegeskedni azon,hogy valaki netán beajánlja a fél várost neki és elmegy. Ő az egyetlen olyan szinte aki minden évében parádésan teljesített,még a 0-16osban is.

Cortland Finnegan is a really good cornerback unless he has to cover Andre Johnson. He's expected to reunite with Jeff Fisher in St. Louis.

Jó lenne ha inkább Schwartzal lenne reunite...

The Detroit Lions will focus on working on a contract extension for head coach Jim Schwartz now that they have all of the assistant coaches under contract for next season.

Detroit Lions vice chairman Bill Ford Jr. said he wouldn't trade QB Matthew Stafford "for any quarterback in the league." Ford is also adamant about getting WR Calvin Johnson signed to a long-term extension.

The Detroit Lions are spending time interviewing Michigan State DB Trenton Robinson, Ohio State RB Dan Herron and Boise State RB Doug Martin in advance of the Senior Bowl this week.

Ez a része még csakcsak elmenne,de adni is kell érte valamit/valakit.
És akkor már inkább legyen az "ingyen" érkező másik jelölt.
