This week on The GM Shuffle, NFL insider Michael Lombardi talked about Waller and shared a story about Waller’s perceived lack of commitment to rehabbing a hamstring injury that caused him to effectively miss more than half of the season.

Lombardi has two sons employed by the Raiders, so he figures to be reasonable source (albeit maybe a little biased) to what’s going on behind closed doors in Las Vegas… in football terms at least.

Here’s what Lombardi said about Waller’s response to the hamstring injury that he suffered in week 5 against the Chiefs…

“This is about durability. This is about ‘I’m getting ready to pay you $11 million, we redid your contract and on the bye week, instead of rehabbing, you went home for four days and accrued the fines. On the bye week you went home and just didn’t talk to anybody. Just went home and left a message saying ‘hey, fine me. I don’t care. I’m going to southern California…’

Ok. Go ahead, but does that tell you as a coach that would want to win? Where does that come from? These are the things that people don’t understand. It’s always the players are right, the coaches are wrong and I’m not saying this because my son is the coach there.”

According to Sports Illustrated’s Hondo Carpenter, there is one quarterback among the consensus top four that the Raiders prefer, but the player might be a surprise.

“I believe based on what I’m hearing from NFL people, that probably all four of what’s considered the top four quarterbacks won’t be there after [pick] 5, and if they are you’re not going to see probably the one the Raiders like.

A lot of people are asking me ‘why aren’t you talking about the one the Raiders like?’ Number 1, because I think it might surprise some people. Not all, but some. Number 2, I’m not going to do anything that would give the Raiders, which is the team I cover, give their opponents a competitive advantage.”

The four quarterbacks deemed by most to be the top prospects in the draft are Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson and Will Levis. Among those four, Young and Stroud are expected to be the first two quarterbacks drafted, although Richardson is a bit of a wild card. A team could easily fall in love with Richardson’s size and athleticism, and put him at the top of the draft class.

A report two weeks ago indicated that the Raiders prefer Richardson over Levis, but it’s also the time of year where you can’t believe anything you read.

Én szerettem a játékát. Spec teamben is hasznos, futás ellen jó, coverben gyengébb, de nem katasztrófa. Szerintem simán lehet kezdő, és nem hiszem hogy ő sztár lesz, de egy stabil teljesítményt lehet várni tőle.

Mondjuk azt hogy ő egy play caller, védelmi vezér lesz, azt nem látom benne, viszont látványos játékok valszeg jönni fognak, mert nagy ütköző. 😊

Hunter Renfrow szerződésében 2 tétel is mai napon válik garantáltá.
Ha ma nincs trade, akkor valószínűleg marad Raider.

Egyenlőre nagy a csönd, mondjuk a Waller trade-nek sem volt előszele...

Jimmy G szerződése körül volt valami rezgés, mára tolták el a bemutató sajtótájékoztatót...

Emellett pedig egy potenciális system fit arc, többpontos edzői kötődéssel is vizitál ma...Andrew Van Ginkel, aki több helyen LB minősítéssel szerepel, de edge defender Ő és nálunk is a szélről indulna 3-4OLB, 4-3DE szerepekből. Ideális lehetne Maxx és Jones mellé, mert rendszert és Graham-et ismeri, Leonard kezei alatt futotta legjobb szezonját eddig, akivel ismét együtt dolgozhatna és a fizuját valószínűleg még elbírná a cap a poszton...


A lényeg, hogy holnapra okosabbak leszünk talán 😉

Ez alapján megvan a kezdő RT és Parker pedig swing OT lehet majd.

Munford lehet RT back up és akkor tulajdonképpen megvan a 4db OT-nk.

Interior OL-t kéne még gatyába rázni. Mondjuk az, h Andre James még kereten van azt jelenti vszeg, h marad Ő az OC. Parham lesz várhatóan az egyik OG, remélhetőleg inkább RG, mert ott jobb volt. Akkor lehet csak egy LG kellene már...
Abból mondjuk vmi bivaly, h a fal közepe miatt ne aggódjak nagyon...
Isaiah Wynn lehetne érdekes opció esetleg...

Egy rengeteget sérült QB nem ér ennél többet.

Jakob meg mivel csak blokkolni tud, szintén nem kap sehol többet ennél.

Szerintem ezek korrekt okos deal-ek, de nem gondolnám, hogy máshol többet tudtak volna kapni, de maradtak/jöttek JMD és Ziggy két/négy szép szeméért...
