Raiders have requested to speak with Vikings assistant offensive coordinator Jordan Traylor to be their QB coach, a job with the potential to work with expected No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza. Traylor, 33, has worked with Kevin O’Connell, Sean Payton and Klint Kubiak, the latter two in New Orleans.

The Raiders are expected to hire Zach Azzanni as wide receivers coach, per source.

Azzanni will enter his 10th season in the NFL and was most recently with the Steelers.

Sleeper OL coach name for the Raiders: Mike Munchak

Here’s why it’s interesting: Munchak and Gary Kubiak (Klint’s dad) overlapped in Denver, and Klint’s whole identity is going to be built on run game + protection + physicality.

Yes, he hasn’t been a full-time coach since 2021. But that also means if you’re bringing him in, you’re betting on instant credibility and grown-man technique for a line that has to change fast.

So let’s debate it.

Would you prefer to have Mike Munchak’s established offensive line development skills, or would you rather invest in younger coaches to build the staff for the long term? Additionally, if Munchak is brought on board, will he serve as the offensive line coach or take on a more consultative role?

Dennison has 30 years of NFL coaching experience, including as an offensive coordinator with the Bills, Broncos and Texans.

Hát ugye nagyon elfogytak már a DC jelöltek tekintve, hogy utolsó előtti üresedés voltunk. Cards is megtartotta a DC-jét előttünk.
Schwartz lehetett volna egy nagy húzás, de azt meg ugye lelőtte a Browns...

Rob Leonard amúgy szerintem megérett erre a kinevezésre, persze ettől még kérdés, hogy beválik-e. Dolgozott több féle DC keze alatt, kvázi a legjobbaktól tanulhatott. Tavaly futás elleni védelemért is Ő felelt már és az nem működött rosszul, pedig a talen level nem túl erős...DL emberekkel is jó munkát végzett, többség fejlődött a keze alatt...én óvatosan reménykedem, de ahogy írtad Te is, ha nagyon nem működik, akkor jövőre lehet hozni új DC-t, Mike Macdonald is cserélt OC-t első év végén és milyen jól kijött neki vele a lépés 😊

Another change: Giants assistant defensive line coach Matt Robinson, who left his job as Baltimore’s outside linebackers coach this off-season to go to New York, is now going to the Raiders as their secondary coach, per source. The Giants gave their permission, and supported Robinson’s move.

Rutinos, önjáró ember, akire Klint gond nélkül rá tudja bízni az egész ST-t. Logikus lépés ez is, főleg ha azt is hozzátesszük mennyire későn vagyunk a stáb kialakítással a SB utáni hire miatt. Sokkal jobb megoldás, mint kinevezni vmi up and comer assistant ST edzőt, akire kellene fókusz a HC-től. 1-2 szezon alatt akár az utódját is kinevelheti házon belül majd...

I’m going to get ahead of this narrative now.

The Raiders promoting Rob Leonard shouldn’t be looked at as a hire to appease Maxx Crosby.

As I said a few days ago, Leonard helped develop unheralded D-line players over the years (K’Lavon Chaisson, Charles Snowden, Jonah Laulu). Tonka Hemingway showed flashes as a rookie. Thomas Booker IV became a solid addition from Philly.

People want stars everywhere, but you don’t get there without early development.

Leonard deserves this opportunity, independent of Crosby’s situation.


Again, for context.

In 2025, Raiders played from behind a lot so teams ran the ball a lot on them by late 3rd/early 4th quarter. (Sometimes right after halftime).

They were 17th in rush yards allowed.

But Raiders were tied for 2nd behind only the Seahawks in rushing yards allowed per carry (3.9).

(Rob Leonard was the run game coordinator last season).


During the 2022 season, Rob Leonard coached a year under Mike Macdonald, who was the DC in Baltimore.

2019-21, Leonard coached under Brian Flores, who’s looked at as one of the NFL’s best defensive play-callers, his units get after it.

I wouldn’t lump Leonard as a Pat Graham/Pete Carroll style guy.



Leonard évek óta jó munkát végez, mint DL coach és run game koordinátorként is megállta a helyét.

A Macdonald és Flores background további potenciált ad.

A play calling komoly kérdés lesz, remélhetőleg érkezik D oldalra is egy rutinos veterán arc még.

Szerintem várható a Seattle style D így is és nem a Hawks edzői stábból "rabolt" Klint.

O oldalra továbbra is várom Benton, Janocko és Dennison érkezését viszont. Őket Klint vitte a Seahawks-hoz, nem rablás lenne tovább vinni őket...
