Yanneck Ngakoue is aláírt, így minden idei draftolt újoncunknak van már szerződése.

És ahogy várható volt, Amukamara 21-es mezre váltott, Ramsey pedig megkapta a 20-as mezt.

Bowman itt is kerettag, ahogy Jarrod Wilson is. Gray helyett Corey Grant került be RBben. Sterling van bent Koyack és Jacobs helyett.

Halloren nagyon részletes 53-as keret tervezete az eddig látottak alapján:
Projecting the Jaguars' 53-man roster

Every summer, every coach on every NFL team says cutting the roster from 90 to 53 players will be difficult.

They’re half right.

It will be tough – nobody likes to cut a player. But it won’t be tough – only a handful of decisions require strategic angst.

The Jaguars have turned over 31.5 percent of their roster since last season ended (28 of 89 players). On paper, they have more talent, which means the final half-dozen spots is a larger guess.

For the fourth straight year, the Times-Union is attempting to predict how the Jaguars’ 53-man roster will look like after the final cut in early September.

The majority of the roster was easy. We view 36 players as locks to be on the roster, not including suspended cornerback Aaron Colvin.

But then it gets tricky. Four or five tailbacks? Eight or nine offensive linemen? Nine of 10 defensive linemen? Six or seven linebackers? How many undrafted free agents?

OFFENSE

QUARTERBACKS

2013: Three.

2014: Two.

2015: Two.

This year: Three.

1. Blake Bortles: Tied for second in the NFL last year with 35 touchdown passes and first with 18 interceptions. Twenty-nine starts into his career, if he can clean up his play in the red zone and inside his 20, another big step is secured.

2. Chad Henne: Now on his third two-year contract with the Jaguars, a reliable backup with 53 career starts.

3. Brandon Allen: Impressed Jaguars enough during Senior Bowl Week to get drafted in the sixth round; impressed them enough in offseason that they won’t want to float him on waivers.

Cut: Max Wittek. The Jaguars have usually kept a quarterback on the practice squad under Dave Caldwell-Gus Bradley, but Wittek may be out of luck because Allen would serve as the scout-team passer.

RUNNING BACKS

2013: Five.

2014: Five.

2015: Five.

This year: Four.

1. T.J. Yeldon: Averaged 4.1 yards per carry and gained 740 yards in 12 games; when he got hurt, the run game went nowhere. Has added weight in offseason to become more physical.

2. Chris Ivory: Fifth in the NFL last year with 1,070 yards, but too pricey for cap-strapped Jets. A toss-up between him and Yeldon for opening-game carry.

3. Jonas Gray: Plucked off Miami’s practice squad last December, gained 54 yards on 14 carries for Jaguars. Expect him to have a productive preseason.

4. Denard Robinson: Has seen Jaguars draft Yeldon and sign Ivory the last two offseasons, and entering final year of rookie deal, it’s hard to imagine he gets a second contract.

Cut: Corey Grant and Joe Banyard. Grant needs to win the kick return job over Robinson to force the Jaguars to keep five tailbacks. He has rare speed, but there’s a logjam at the position.

TIGHT ENDS

2013: Four.

2014: Three.

2015: Four.

This year: Five.

1. Julius Thomas: Third on the team last year in receptions (46) and touchdown catches (five) even though broken hand cost him first four games.

2. Marcedes Lewis: The longest-tenured Jaguars player (11th year) is on his third contract. Only 16 catches last year.

3. Nic Jacobs: Missed final month of offseason with a broken finger. Has dropped some weight to keep role as blocker first and receiver (distant) second.

4. Braedon Bowman: Our first and maybe only curveball. Impressed team with pass-catching ability. If he can block a little bit, he makes it in the Clay Harbor Role.

5. Ben Koyack: An extra tight end is kept instead of a fifth tailback for Koyack, who spent last year on the practice squad.

Cut: Neal Sterling. Moving from receiver to TE may require another year on the practice squad.

RECEIVERS

2013: Four.

2014: Five.

2015: Five.

This year: Five.

1. Allen Robinson: One more solid year from a monster payday $25 million guaranteed?). Caught 80 passes for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns last year.

2. Allen Hurns: Won’t have to play wondering about financial future after signing four-year extension earlier this month ($20 million guaranteed). Had 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2015.

3. Rashad Greene: Knows how to find open zones as a slot receiver; knows how to make big plays as a punt returner.

4. Marqise Lee: Team has collective fingers crossed he can stay healthy and provide a downfield dynamic after two injury-plagued years.

5. Bryan Walters: Hurns calls him “Mr. Reliable.” Thirty-two catches last year makes him good option on third down. Can also return punts.

Cut: Rasheed Bailey, Tony Washington, Arrelious Benn, Rashad Lawrence, Jamal Robinson, Shaq Evans and Shane Wynn. Of this group, Benn has the most established track record and might have made the team last year had he not been injured.

OFFENSIVE LINE

2013: Nine.

2014: Ten.

2015: Nine.

This year: Eight.

1. Brandon Linder (center): Team’s best lineman in 2014 (missed last 12 games of 2015 with shoulder injury) moves from right guard to center, where he’ll be the fourth starter in as many years.

2. Jermey Parnell (right tackle): Jaguars expect him to take big leap forward after starting 15 games last year, eight more than his first six NFL seasons combined.

3. A.J. Cann (right guard): Third-round pick took over after Linder’s injury. Last year’s game experience will help him this year.

4. Kelvin Beachum (left tackle): Signed from Pittsburgh, spent spring/summer rehabilitating midseason knee injury. Is the starter if healthy.

5. Mackenzy Bernadeau (left guard): Forty-nine career starts, spent entire offseason as starting left guard. He makes the most sense there.

6. Luke Joeckel (tackle/guard): Former second overall pick will lose left tackle spot when Beachum is cleared to practice.

7. Josh Wells (tackle): Missed last year after thumb surgery. Could he be the top swing tackle behind Beachum and Parnell in 2017?

8. Tyler Shatley (center/guard): Unproven in regular-season games, team remains committed to developing him.

Physically unable to perform list: Luke Bowanko (hip). Had surgery earlier this month and might not be ready until November.

Cut: Chris Reed, Rashod Hill, Pearce Slater, Jeff Linkenbach, Kadeem Edwards and Patrick Omameh. The Jaguars have experienced depth options for a change, but late additions Linkenbach and Omameh are underdogs against Wells and Shatley.

DEFENSE

DEFENSIVE LINE

2013: Nine.

2014: Ten.

2015: Ten.

This year: Ten.

1. Dante Fowler (weak-side end): Third overall pick missed rookie season with knee injury. Now expected to be team’s top pass rusher. A big ask.

2. Malik Jackson (three-technique tackle): Mega free-agent signing (club-record $42 million guaranteed) expected to contain run on first and second downs and be effective interior pass rusher on third down.

3. Jared Odrick (strong-side end): Has played every game the last five years. Solid run-stopper who pitched in 5.5 sacks in first season for Jaguars.

4. Roy Miller (nose tackle): A dependable and big (320 pounds) two-down player who had 40 tackles last year.

5. Sen’Derrick Marks (three-technique tackle): Limited to four games last year because of knee and triceps injuries. Will rotate with Jackson. Camp will be big for Marks to regain his form.

6. Yannick Ngakoue (weak-side end): If Myles Jack wasn’t available, Jaguars would have taken Ngakoue in second round. Was still on board in third round. Needs to be effective out of the gate.

7. Tyson Alualu (strong-side end): Hasn’t missed a game in six years. Despite all of the additions on line, is still second-best option at strong-side end.

8. Sheldon Day (three-technique tackle): Wowed teammates and coaches during offseason program with quickness and balance. Fourth-round pick will be in rotation.

9. Abry Jones (nose tackle): Backup to Miller, is there room for him on the 46-man game-day roster? Not right now.

10. Michael Bennett (three-technique tackle): Ten tackles in 13 games. If he has strong preseason, Jaguars could stash him on active roster.

Physically unable to perform list: Jonathan Woodard (Achilles).

Cut: Richard Ash, Chris Smith, Tyrone Holmes and Bjoern Werner. Holmes, a sixth-round rookie, would be a practice squad candidate.

LINEBACKERS

2013: Six.

2014: Six.

2015: Six.

This year: Six.

1. Paul Posluszny (middle): Tenth-year player starting sixth season with Jaguars and had team-high 133 tackles in 2015.

2. Myles Jack (middle): Jaguars traded up two spots when he fell into second round. Gifted athlete who at the minimum will have sub-package role at the start.

3. Telvin Smith (weak-side): Break-out 128-tackle year in 2015. Could he be odd linebacker out if Jaguars use Posluszny/Jack in nickel? Eligible for contract extension in March 2017.

4. Dan Skuta (strong-side): Limited by groin injury last year. Two-down linebacker who will also see time as a pass-rushing end.

5. Ryan Davis (strong-side): Converted from defensive end/tackle to strong-side linebacker/situational pass rusher. Don’t expect him to do much in coverage.

6. Jordan Tripp (weak-side, middle): Backup to Smith at weak-side backer, makes it as a core special teamer.

Cut: Hayes Pullard, Joplo Bartu, Sean Porter and Thurston Armbrister. After making last year’s team as undrafted free agent, Armbrister will start camp as third-string strong-side linebacker, which isn’t good for his roster chances.

CORNERBACKS

2013: Five.

2014: Five.

2015: Five.

This year: Five.

1. Jalen Ramsey: Fifth overall pick dropped into Jaguars’ lap when Dallas took, gulp, a tailback (Ezekiel Elliott). Could be outside corner in base defense and slot corner in sub-package.

2. Davon House: Team-high four interceptions and 23 pass breakups last year, his first as a full-time starter. If pass rush is improved, it will play into his occasional-gambling mentality.

3. Prince Amukamara: Playing on a one-year prove-it contract, projected role is outside cornerback in sub-package. Has seven interceptions in 55 games.

4. Dwayne Gratz: Moved inside to cover slot receiver this offseason, and Colvin’s suspension will secure his roster spot for at least four games.

5. Nick Marshall: Converted quarterback has organizational support, although we’re not quite sure why.

Suspended: Aaron Colvin (first four games).

Cut: Demetrius McCray, Mike Hilton, Josh Johnson and Briean Boddy-Calhoun. McCray’s time is likely to run out because of the Ramsey and Amukamara additions. Hilton and Boddy-Calhoun could compete for one practice squad spot.

SAFETIES

2013: Five.

2014: Four.

2015: Four.

This year: Four.

1. Tashaun Gipson (free): Made Pro Bowl once for Cleveland and is expected to solidify a revolving door position with range and ball skills.

2. Johnathan Cyprien (strong): In contract year, playing same position but in a different location (closer to the line of scrimmage). If he can tackle better, there might be hope for him yet.

3. James Sample (strong): Back at his true position after dabbling with free safety last year. Haven’t seen a lot of him because of forearm and shoulder injuries as a rookie.

4. Peyton Thompson (free): Makes the team for three reasons: He has adapted well to new position, can still play inside cornerback and plays all four special teams.

Cut: Josh Evans, Jarrod Wilson and Earl Wolff. For three years, Evans has found his way into the starting lineup, but he’s likely kaput because of Gipson’s arrival and Thompson’s position switch. Watch out for Wilson: He had two interceptions in minicamp.

SPECIAL TEAMS

2013: Three.

2014: Three.

2015: Three.

This year: Three.

1. Jason Myers (kicker): Made 19 of his last 20 field goal attempts, but led the NFL with seven missed extra points. Needs to solve that part.

2. Brad Nortman (punter): Signed from Carolina in March to replace Bryan Anger.

3. Carson Tinker (long snapper): Entering fourth year with team.

Cut: Ryan Quigley (punter), who was signed Thursday. The Jaguars will add a second place-kicker before camp opens.
Evans, Holmes és Sterling cutja kicsit meglepő, ahogy Bowman bekerülése is. A free safety csereposztért folytatott csata elég érdekes lesz. Wolff, Evans és Wilson közül bárki kiszoríthatja Thompsont.

Úgy tűnik Ramsey NAGYON utálja a mostani mezszámát(38). Loston távozása miatt lehet talán beruházhat a 21-esre.
■ For the Numbers Police: Cornerback Jalen Ramsey isn’t a fan of No. 38 and wants No. 23. … Safety James Sample is No. 23 but hasn’t given it up or sold it yet. … Safety Craig Loston (No. 20) was cut Thursday. … Cornerback Prince Amukamara (No. 21) could take No. 20, his number with the New York Giants. … That would allow Ramsey to take No. 21. … Oy, my head hurts.( 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 - Ik.)
Aztán jövőre Sample talán átengedi neki a 23-ast, ha úgy játszik idén.

4 terület, ahol még vannak kérdőjelek a csapattal kapcsolatban.
Between now and basically the third week of the preseason (when lineups are traditionally set), the Jaguars still have a to-do list:

1. LEFT TACKLE AND LEFT GUARD

Presumptive left tackle Kelvin Beachum missed the offseason (knee). Shortly after Beachum signed March 15, general manager Dave Caldwell projected an early-August debut. Now?

“I don’t want to say definitively, but it’s a very high percentage he’ll be ready to go at the start of camp,” Caldwell said.

Caldwell said when Beachum is cleared, there won’t be any restrictions on his practice time. And once he’s cleared, gaining clarity will begin. Offensive coordinator Greg Olson wants the five-man unit set quickly.

If Beachum is healthy and earns the left tackle spot, what it means for Luke Joeckel is crystallizing. He’ll be a back-up swing man or a starting guard — the Jaguars have liked how he’s moved during his limited practice reps at the interior position. But it’s puzzling since he played less than 10 snaps combined in the two minicamp practice.

“My mind is [on] left tackle,” Joeckel said when asked if he can win the left guard spot if Beachum takes his position.

Why not move Joeckel now and get a head start during the less-pressurized off-season? Clear answers to that question weren’t gleaned. The Jaguars are flirting with disaster with their offensive line’s left side.

2. THIRD CORNERBACK

Aaron Colvin is suspended for the first four games, leaving the third cornerback spot covering the slot receiver up for grabs.

The Jaguars have four options to get through the first month: Ramsey, Prince Amukamara, Dwayne Gratz and Peyton Thompson.

Each comes with a rub and why the preseason will be key to finding an answer.

The Jaguars may not want to put too much on Ramsey’s plate (moving inside and outside); Amukamara is strictly an outside cornerback (and prefers staying out there); Gratz is new to covering the slot (and hasn’t distinguished himself in the NFL); and Thompson will spend most of training camp at free safety (as a back-up).

But who knows, maybe Jack can take some of the slot corner snaps if matched against a tight end.

3. FIRST-DRIVE TAILBACK

The Jaguars’ ideal plan at running back is for incumbent T.J. Yeldon and newcomer Chris Ivory to form an effective combination. But barring a wild formation, only one will be on the field for the season’s opening play.

Ivory is more accomplished — his 1,070 yards last year were fifth in the league.

“Ivory is someone that we’re counting on so his adapting to the offense is critical,” Olson said.

Yeldon was here last year — he carried the run game until an early December knee injury — so he figures to have a comfort level in the offense.

Asked about Yeldon’s offseason, Bradley first mentioned his improvement in pass protection. Reading between the lines would suggest they have Yeldon ear-marked for a regular third down/fill-in early-down role and Ivory as the initial starter.

4. PASS-RUSHING DEPTH

Defensive ends Dante Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue have looked the part by using their speed to get around offensive tackles. But how they mix in their power moves will be on display in August.

The Jaguars believe the presence of Jackson and a healthy Sen’Derrick Marks inside on third down will help Fowler and Ngakoue make quick transitions to the NFL game. They need to be good right away.

More outside pass rushers need to emerge, though. Ryan Davis and Dan Skuta will get third-down opportunities when they shift from strong-side linebacker to weak-side defensive end. But don’t be surprised if the Jaguars blitz early in the season to put Fowler andNgakoue into favorable/winnable match-ups.

TE Braedon Bowman made a great one-handed great in the end zone (it looked like he pinned the football to his helmet) during 7-on-7.

QB Blake Bortles rolled right and threw deep downfield left to find TE Julius Thomas for a long completion.

THUMBS UP

QB Chad Henne completed all six of his passes during the lone 7-on-7 period of practice.

FS Jerrod Wilson made it two interceptions in two days when he picked off QB Max Wittek.

THUMBS DOWN

None, really.

ODDS AND ENDS

*Quarterback stats (11 on-11): Bortles 12 snaps, 8-of-10; Henne 12 snaps, 6-of-8; Allen seven snaps, 2-of-3; and Wittek five snaps, 1-of-4.

*Quarterback stats (7-on-7): Bortles 3-of-6, Henne 6-of-6, Allen 1-of-2 and Wittek 1-of-1.

*WR Allen Hurns caught all four passes intended from him in 11-on-11.

*K Jason Myers hit all three of his point-after kicks (33 yards) and was good from 38 and 43 yards before missing wide left from 53 yards.

*The re-shuffling on the offensive line continued – RG A.J. Cann took some snaps at right tackle, LT Luke Joeckel at left guard and LG Mackenzy Bernadeau at center.

*Thomas continued his strong off-season with three more catches in 11-on-11 work. He got behind LB Myles Jack (who may have been in zone coverage) for a touch

*Pass break-ups during 11-on-11 and 7-on-7: CB Aaron Colvin and FS Tashaun Gipson.

*CB Prince Amukamara and CB Dwayne Gratz were called for penalties.
A FS Jerrod Wilsont és a TE Braedon Bowman tűnnek egyelőre az idei UDFA rookie class legjobbjainak.

Júllius 2.-án Telvin Smith vezeti majd fel a NASCAR mezőnyt Daytonában.

Elsősorban Telvinre fókuszál Robert Klemko MMQB-je is.

Mark Lamping elmondta, hogy bár nem volt hivatalos ünnepség, elkezdődött már az új edzőközpont és az amfiteátrum építése.

Azt is elmondta, hogy idén több szezonbérlet lesz eladva, mint tavaly.

Akkor Bortles punter lesz? 😉 😊
