1.) The Broncos will not release Kyle Orton, according to the Denver Post.
The Broncos would owe Orton $2.9 million in salary on top of his $1.5 million roster bonus if they cut him. In other words, it's not happening. He's also wisely not willing to take a paycut on a long-term deal when he could simply hit the open market as a free agent next season. The Denver media continues to say a deal is dead while the Miami media says a trade is still very possible.

A league source has told Pro Football Talk the deal is worth roughly $9.2 million. Pouncey is expected to follow in the footsteps of his brother Maurkice and start as a rookie this season.

3.) The Rams are in discussions with free agent Ronnie Brown about a potential signing.
Josh McDaniels knows Brown well from their days together in the AFC East. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch "believes" the Rams have also made contact with Joseph Addai and Jason Snelling. Brown is declining at age 29, but he excels on passing downs. The Rams need to sign two tailbacks when all's said and done.

ESPN's John Clayton floated the idea of Miller taking his talents to South Beach on Saturday morning, but was apparently speculating more than passing along any real news. Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports the Broncos potential trade with the Dolphins fell through due to Kyle Orton's contract demands, not draft-pick compensation.
It's still alive. The Miami Herald hears the Dolphins are not out of the "Orton chase" and the "final chapter hasn't been written." Orton has never had a shot at free agency, so it's hard to blame him for trying to cash in on a potential trade. Perhaps the Dolphins can get him to come down enough to let the Broncos front office off the hook with a trade.

One of the league's most overlooked linebackers, Burnett graded out exceptionally well in Pro Football Focus' ratings the past two years in San Diego. Though recently released Channing Crowder has been premier a run defender, he was a liability in coverage. Burnett provides a significant upgrade, likely at a similar price. The Bills will have to turn to Plan C at linebacker.

2.)NFL Network's Michelle Beisner reports the Dolphins never made an official trade offer for Kyle Orton.
It's a good bet the two sides at least discussed the parameters of the deal, but it never graduated to the next step without a long-term contract agreement with Orton. We still don't believe we've heard the last of the Dolphins and Orton.

3.)Free agent ILB Channing Crowder reportedly "loves" Bills defensive coordinator George Edwards.
It's interesting to note that ex-Bills LB Kawika Mitchell tweeted Friday, "Buffalo. You have a new LB heading your way. That's my guess," in reference to Crowder. Edwards was Crowder's position coach in Miami from 2005 through 2009, and also coached at Florida (Crowder's alma mater). The Bills have a need at inside 'backer.Ventura
