Még éppen ott vagyunk, hogy megfordítható a szezon(és összejöhet egy 6-10es mérleg, ami éppen hogy, de elég lehet Gusnak még egy évhez), de ehhez a mai W nagyon kéne. 1-6os mérleggel Bradley tényleg lame ducká válna a hátralévő 9 meccsre. De ha most összejön a W, lehet úgy menni a byera, hogy valami megmozdult előre. Kvázi ez sorsdöntő meccs Gusnak. Remélem ő is tisztában van ezzel!

1. Szar idő, szar kaja, kibaszott Mary Poppins. Nem lenne rossz ötlet változtatni a londoni hagyományokon, és legalább egyszer meccsben tartani magunkat, ha már a következő 75 évben lesz egy meccsünk. Európa megnyerhető vazze! Én tök szívesen mennék amúgy megint jövőre, csak mutassunk valamit, ami bizonyítja, hogy érdemes. Az előző két brit meccsen 73-27-re kaptunk ki összeadva... Tasty.

2. Fancy a pick? Az első heti első félidős interception óta nem tudtuk elkapni az ellenfél irányítójának passzait. Ez egyébként nem olyan dolog, hogyha rains, akkor pours, ehhez tényleges skillre van szükség. Manuel karrierje alatt 37 passzonként adja el a lasztit, tehát óvatosjeromosnak mondanám, de továbbra is tartom, hogy valamilyen labdaszerzés nélkül nem lehet nyerni ebben a ligában. Harvin és Watkins nélkül áll ki a Bills, tehát nem kéne egy újabb hopkinszos teljesítményt engedni az ellenfélnek.

3. Nézz amarra is. Örömteli, hogy végre a bőség zavarával kell megküzdeni az irányítónknak, csak ezzel azt értük el, hogy gyakran a rossz (vagy nem annyira jó) opciót választja. Thomas érkezése még jobban megnyitja a teret hosszabb passzokra, nem kéne egy újabb meccsen át hanyagolni Hurnst.

4. Színezd a statlapot. Igazából sok cél nincs már az idei szezonra, talán csak annyi, hogy megőrizzük a méltóságunkat és szerezzünk egy kis önbizalmat jövőre. Ennek nagyszerű módja, ha a kulcsjátékosaink továbbra is ott tartják magukat a kategóriáik élmezőnyében. Legyünk kedvenc játékosai most csapatot kereső lurkóknak. Az Allen Co. -30-nál is kapja el az anyját is, Blake-kel passzoltassunk meccsenként 3 TD-t egy yardról is, Telvin csináljon meg minden szerelést. Jelenjen meg játékosaink neve az elit között, hogy más csapatok rajongói ránk keressenek, hogy "ez ki a fasz?" - próbáljuk meg rárakni a Jaguarst az NFL térképére.

5. Gyűjts momentumot. Az egész világ minket néz. A bye week előtt vagyunk. Esküszöm két győzelemmel érne fel ma egy W, kurvára nem szeretnék két hétig rossz szájízt, amíg újra bizonyít (valamit) a csapat.

Khan szerint esetleges korrekciókról majd nem csak a W-L rekord alapján fog dönteni, ha szükség lesz rá. Majd év végén össze fogja hasonlítani, mennyit fejlődött a csapat az elmúlt 3 évben és tavalyhoz képest.
Shaonak nincs baja azzal, hogy egy milliókat kereső játékos(=House) padra kerül. Senkinek nincs bérelt helye a csapatban (akkor mit keres Beadles még a kezdő O-lineban?...)
Lamping és Shao is elmondta, hogy a londoni 1 meccses jelenlét biztosítja azt, hogy a Jaguars anyagilag sikeres vállalkozás legyen jelenleg.
Khan nagyon izgatott a stream miatt. Szerint ez a jövő és 20 év múlva a mai meccs trivia kérdés lesz majd (melyik volt az első az egész világban streamelt meccs).

Despite another slow start, Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell believes 'wins are going to come'

The first two years for Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell were difficult to endure. He knew the roster was talent deficient and the good players he had drafted were young, which brings the usual inconsistencies.
This year is worse, though.

The Jaguars enter Sunday’s game against Buffalo at Wembley Stadium with a 1-5 record, including three consecutive squandered second-half leads.

“It’s much harder than the first two years because you can taste victory and feel victory,” Caldwell said. “I think that’s both encouraging and disheartening at the same time.”

Encouraging because the Jaguars put themselves in position to win games, particularly on offense; disheartening because they’ve lost to a 40-year old quarterback (Matt Hasselbeck), a rookie quarterback (Jameis Winston) and a journeyman quarterback (Brian Hoyer) … in the last three weeks.

Before traveling with the team to the United Kingdom, Caldwell spent an hour talking to the Times-Union in his EverBank Field office.

Like coach Gus Bradley, Caldwell’s record with the team is 8-30. And like Bradley, Caldwell expressed confidence in the Jaguars’ approach is optimistic they are close to not only winning games, but doing good things on a week-to-week basis.

“It’s a hump we’re close to getting over, we just need to get over it,” Caldwell said. “The wins are going to come. I believe that. I believe we have the right pieces in place to see progress. It will turn [around].”

On Blake Bortles

Quarterback Blake Bortles enters Week 7 fifth in touchdown passes (13), fifth in interceptions (seven), seventh in yards (1,630) and 20th in passer rating (83.5). He is sixth in rushing yards (149) among quarterbacks. The Jaguars are 12th in passing yards per game (258.0) and have 31 completions of at least 16 yards. Bortles’ first red-zone interception of the year came late in the first half of last week’s loss to Houston.

Caldwell: “The offense is [producing] early in games this year instead of late in games like last year and we’re keeping games close. We’re taking our shots downfield, we’re playing to Blake’s strengths and he’s doing a great job of improvising and keeping plays alive. Yes, he’s made some mistakes, but as I told Gus, the interception going into halftime [against Houston] was a shame, but he made a handful of dynamic plays to get us in position. The next step is finishing that drive and I think he will.

“He’s anticipating, he’s throwing receivers open, he’s throwing before the receiver is open and he’s been accurate [although his completion rate is down 1.8 percent from last year]. And he’s throwing the ball away, which is good and he’s living to play another down.

“I don’t worry about [Bortles’ spirit during the losing] because I know how he’s programmed and [his mental toughness was] part of the reason why we made him the third pick in the draft [in 2014]. We knew he was mentally tough and physically tough and if I pull him aside, and sometimes I do, he says, ‘I’m fine.’”

On T.J. Yeldon

Rookie running back T.J. Yeldon missed most of the preseason with a sprained pinkie, but quickly established himself as the Jaguars’ best tailback in all situations. His 81 carries and 291 rushing yards rank 14th and 22nd, respectively, and he’s missed the last five quarters (the end of the Tampa Bay game and the entire Houston loss) because of a groin injury. But the running game needs to get untracked. The Jaguars remain the only NFL team without a rushing touchdown this year and only 3.3 percent of their non-Bortles rushing attempts (four of 122) have gained at least 12 yards.

Caldwell: “T.J. is extremely tough, he has a high, high football IQ and he’s one of the better pass protectors I’ve seen for a rookie [tailback]. And he’s a three-down back. That’s why we took him [in the second round]. There’s nothing we have to take out of the game plan because he can’t do it. He can run it, pass protect, run routes, get the hard yards inside, can get out on the perimeter and he loves ball.

“We just have to sustain our blocks a little bit longer to allow T.J. to get to the second and third levels. As opposed to the past, when it was three or four guys missing their blocks, it may just be one guy coming free. T.J. has done a great job of creating and showing patience. He’s hitting the holes that are there and sometimes creating something out of nothing.”

On the pass rush (lack thereof)

The Jaguars are tied for 16th with 12 sacks; it only seems like they never get to the quarterback. Through six games, they’ve rushed five or more players on 21.9 percent of their opponent’s drop-backs (58 of 246). In the first three games, it was only 14.3 percent (19 of 133), compared with 31.7 percent (39 of 123) in the last three games. When asked if his secondary could hold up if more five- and six-man pressures are called, Caldwell said it could, but deferred the play-calling decisions to the coaching staff.

Caldwell: “I think the coverage has held up. There is a risk/reward and I defer to the coaches because they’re the experts in the game-planning and we give our input with personnel and the match-ups. I think really what you do [if you get involved as the general manager] is you screw things up. You have to understand it’s a stay-in-your-lane type of deal. You hire good people to do their jobs. The last thing I want them to do is make changes to the scheme or the game plan because they think that’s what I want them to do. Coaches coach and scouts scout. We do have great interaction, but I think our players are in good hands with our staff.”

On the lack of takeaways

The Jaguars’ three takeaways are fewest in the NFL and they are astonishingly bad on third down – opponents are converting on 50 percent of their chances. Are the Jaguars even giving themselves a chance to be good defensively?

/b]Caldwell[/b]: “It’s hard. You need takeaways. You need to find a way to steal a possession in this league and when they do put the ball on the ground, we can’t get the bounce. They’re eventually going to turn into interceptions and recoveries. We just have to keep creating those opportunities.”

On the team’s health

Not counting players who were on injured reserve when the season started, the Jaguars have lost 41 “man” games to injuries. Those who have missed time include left tackle Luke Joeckel, strong safety Johnathan Cyprien, tight end Julius Thomas, running back T.J. Yeldon, defensive tackle Sen’Derrick Marks, free safety James Sample, defensive end Andre Branch and rotation receivers Marqise Lee and Rashad Greene. Right guard Brandon Linder, the team’s best offensive lineman, is out for the year following shoulder surgery.

The Jaguars didn’t have arguably their best offensive (Thomas) or defensive player (Marks) for the first four and five games, respectively. But the Jaguars could have a season-low two injured inactive players (Lee and Sample) Sunday.

Caldwell: “The biggest thing for me, I want to get our team healthy and then keep them healthy. Then, we’ll see what we can do. … We’re going to have [more] injuries, every team does, and we’re playing Buffalo and they have quite a few [eight players have been ruled out]. But if we can get Marqise, Rashad and T.J. back and then not have any injuries on top of those, it will make a difference.”

On second-guessing himself

Without cataloguing and dividing Caldwell’s personnel moves into the good, bad or to be determined sub-sections, he’s signed two free agents who earned second contracts (Marks and fellow defensive tackle Roy Miller), but the 2014 class has been a disappointment. Only left guard Zane Beadles remains a starter. And although there was a method to the 2015 draft (build the offense) it’s natural to wonder if a linebacker could have made a difference.

Caldwell: “It’s human nature to look back. Things aren’t always going to turn out the way we think at times, but as long as we stick to the process, we’re going to be on the better end. We have a good system and a good process of doing things.”

On coach Gus Bradley

For the first time, Bradley has been subject to criticism, specifically because the defense has struggled despite the free-agent additions of Jared Odrick, Dan Skuta, Davon House and Sergio Brown.

Caldwell: “He’s handling it well. He takes [the losing] hard, but we’re working to try and find a way like our coaches and personnel guys and players are.

“If we stick to it, I think things have to turn.”

Shao Khan elmondta, hogy bár nem örül, hogy csak 1 győzelmünk van idén, nem hisz a szezon közbeni változtatásokban az edzői stábban (az NFLben, a Fulham más kávéház...).

Khan said an mid-season change involving general manager Dave Caldwell and especially coach Gus Bradley isn’t on the horizon.

“The only sane – and the only proper thing to do [is to make no in-season changes],” Khan said. “It has never even crossed my mind from that viewpoint.”

Asked what Bradley has to show over the final 10 games to prove he merits a fourth season on the sideline, Khan said: “I think you want to see how the football team is now versus three years ago.”

Through six games in 2013-14, the Jaguars were 0-6 in both seasons; they’re 1-5 this year.

Have the Jaguars taken a step backward?

“Life in general and football in particular, it’s not a straight line going up,” Khan said. “We know where the starting point was and we want to see where the ending point is and what the journey has been over the last three years.”

Unlike others in the organization, Khan didn’t use the Jaguars’ injury situation as a crutch for their woeful record.

“Every team has those kinds of issues to deal with,” Khan said. “It can’t be a medium for excuse-making.”

On Caldwell and Bradley, Khan said: “Believe me, they want to have success more than any of us do. They’re highly motivated. I think they’re really disappointed we’re not having the success we should [be having]. We have to see how the season unfolds. There is more than half the season out there and then we’ll be able to see what’s been done.”

On the Jaguars’ roster having enough talent to be more competitive, Khan said: “There are a lot of pieces in place there are certainly a lot of reasons for encouragement. But eventually, the way you measure a football team, or any sports team, is by wins and losses.”

Khan added of the Jaguars’ record: “It’s very, very important that we don’t become a victim of the status quo. The performance and actions on the field is what dictate [what happens] going forward.”

Ezen nevek felsorolása a bizonyíték rá, hogy nem nagyon releváns talent témakörben, hogy valakiről mit gondol pár évvel a draftolása után 32 NFL csapat.

Tehát felsoroltál 10 nevet az NFL történelemből, amely bizonyítja az igazadat és nagylelkűen eltekintesz a maradék több 100/1000 játékostól, aki pedig nem. Well Done.

Tim barátunk idén is megkapta az esélyt, hogy bizonyítson, idén sem kellett senkinek, hátha majd 3 év múlva már eléri az NFL szintet. De az esélyek ellene dolgoznak.

FYI
