QB Matthew Stafford was 1st player 2 enter Lions facility


Not saying it won't happen, but if the Lions have any plans to release Bryant Johnson, they hadn't informed him of it as of late last night.

Lions | Mikel Leshoure learning; impressing teammates

Detroit Lions rookie RB Mikel Leshoure impressed teammates during recent player-led workouts. WR Derrick Williams said Leshoure looks like he's a "beast" and "someone to be afraid of" for defenders. At 6-foot, 233 pounds, Leshoure is expected to handle the between-the-tackles and short-yardage role for the Lions this season.

Leshoure feels like he is going to be able to bring an end to the team's woes when it comes to short-yardage conversions. "I definitely think we're going to be able to get third-and-1s this year, even fourth-and-1s if Coach wants to call that. But I feel like I can get to the perimeter sometimes if I need to and stretch the field and be a complement to Jahvid (Best). We're two different type of runners that will work good together," Leshoure said.

Leshoure has been trying to learn the team's playbook, working with QB Matthew Stafford and others. His last offensive coordinator, Paul Petrino, in college worked with Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, so Leshoure feels there will be some carryover in his transition to the Detroit playbook.

Detroit Lions second-year RB Jahvid Best said in May that he is fully recovered from the dual turf-toe injury problems that plagued him during his rookie campaign. Best was limited to 171 carries and 555 yards during the 2010 season.

Best is expected to be the team's perimeter rushing threat this season, and also be used as a weapon in the passing game.

Nem feltétlenül. A Giantsnél erős oldalon volt OLB, míg a Titansnél Tulloch volt a MLB, ő pedig általában WOLB-ként játszott. Ha Levy-re hosszútávon is építeni akarnak, akkor jobb variáció, őt középen hagyni, hogy ne legyen törés a poszt tanulási folyamatában, és a védelem irányításában is így szerez több tapasztalatot, mint a csak 1-2 évre megoldás öreget odatenni.
